cream make up

ok, so I am now of an age (48teen) where I have some lines and slight wrinkles and powder over make up seems to gather in those places; under/around eyes.

Ive watched many TikTok/reels and older ladies seem to suggest cream make up, the tutorials show palettes with many colours and this seems to be the 1 stop shop... But they don't say what brand it is.

oh and a face spray that you spray then buff on that gives you a glow, vital something or other.

Any suggestions welcome. My skin is normal/dry/combination depending on weather. Slight Rosacea as I age.

I saw Sali Hughes advertising a new palette of all-in-one cream makeup the other day, a foundation, blush, etc all in one palette.
I love a dippy pot cream foundation but have never found one to replace my beloved Clarins Instant Smooth which was discontinued. I spent a fortune on Chantecaille but it's oil free which is no good for me as my skin is dry.

anyone else got cream palette make up recommendations?

No cream palette make up palette suggestions but I can recommend cream eyeshadow sticks, particularly the By Terry ombre blackstar ones. Also I use Skin Food cream blusher, they come in tiny tins with 3 coordinating shades. My favourite one is the plum. I wear a liquid foundation, Lancome teint miracle and a cream concealer.

I'm not sure you can get the Skin food blush in the UK but the Max Factor miracle touch cream blusher always receives great reviews and it's available on ebay. A pink shade is always good to perk up a dull complexion.

As for a highlighter something like Benefit Whats up is great but pricey, Rimmel do a similar one for about £8 the shade Bubbly is the best to suit all complexions.

Have a look at Trinny London maybe - I don't wear foundation but her eye shadow/creams are good!

I wear Estée Lauder Sheer Longwear. It’s replaced my beloved Bobbi Brown that was discontinued. It’s very sheer and blowy and makes me look younger and more awake but it’s not at all mask like. The double wear concealer is also better than any others I’ve tried. It’s quite liquid and the bottle is tiny. One bottle lasts me about 5 months.

Glossier Cloud Paint cream blush is lovely. I bought it after recommendations here.

I have the DW concealer and it is very nice.

Superdrug has a new range called Studio London where they sell lip/ cheek cream products for £5. It might be worth heading to your local branch to take a look.

I have EL double wear light foundation and love it, also got various body shop eyeshadow cream sticks and blush in a cream which is good.

What I really would like is the 4 palette that has the contour colours, so the bright yellow/white for inner eye corner, highlighter, dark contour and bronzer. I saw it on a TikTok/fb reel video and wish I had saved it.

Why don't you try drug store brands. L'Oreal makes a cream foundation, No.7 has a cream stick, Avene has a nice SPF compact, although it only has a few colours.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 24/11/2023 00:02

I’ve just changed from powder to cream blusher as I felt the powder was highlighting the imperfections of ageing that I’d rather not make obvious. I’m using a Bobbi Brown cream blush and it’s lovely.

I am 65 and wear tinted moisturiser instead of foundation.

Mercurial123 · 24/11/2023 04:18

Is it the Make up Forever palette?

You could take a look at Nudestix! My friend uses them and they are lovely...

Rina66 · 24/11/2023 11:53

Was it this one that I have?

Jaxinthebox · 24/11/2023 17:29

not that one @Rina66 but it has crossed my view lately a lot.

I will keep trying, no rush, I have plenty of make up - and I don't wear it often enough now to justify buying lots and lots. Gone are the days when I wore a full face every day.

And mostly I use tinted moisturiser, CC cream.
