Can you make a dress bigger at the bust?

I've found a dress for a formal night on a cruise and fallen in love with it, only issue is my bust.
Since having my baby last year, my boobs are big and show no signs of shrinking back down lol. I love this dress I've bought but my boobs are literally flattened in this dress that it quite painful.

Is it possible to have a dress altered just at the bust to accommodate such large boobs?

It’s called Star Stitch in Miller St ( between Ingram St and Argyle St). Scotsnet could probably recommend someone up your way. Good luck. The dress is lovely .

Little update - I've taken the dress to a few dress makers/seamstresses and two of them refused and said they don't feel comfortable with it. The third, a highly reputable little shop in my town spent time with me today and said pretty much what was said upthread by a seamstress that they are taking fabric from the excess length and adding 2x 2" panels to the side of the dress and using the excess lace to blend it in. I have left them the dress whilst they price it up (they were very busy) but to be honest, I'll be paying whatever they come back with as it is such a beautiful dress.

Fwiw, I bought the dress off Vinted for £10, brand new with tags so I'm prepared to pay a bit more for the alterations :)

I have done it by taking fabric from the skirt and adding it inside the v neck at the front. Fiddly though.

Dress is back 😁😁 £70 but delighted.

Just need a bit of trusty old tit tape!
