Replacement for Cotton Pads for eye makeup removal.

Just that really. I have half a packet of the cottonpads that I use with Simple eye make up remover remaining. I'd like to move to something reusable and hopefully more ecofriendly. I use Waterproof mascara and powder eye shadow and sometimes eye liner.
Any recommendations please?

These are amazing to remove make up, you can even do it with just water.

I use body shop camomile balm and you don’t need anything to take it off except splashing your face with warm water.

Gets all my makeup off including waterproof mascara.

Have you thought about switching from eye makeup remover to a cleansing balm or oil? It takes it all off and then you just use a washer. (Big fan of microfibre ones, but have since learned that they are not without issues…. Sigh. Old-style flannel works just as well, but isn’t as velvety.)

Use the body shop chamomile clean balm stuff. It's amazing. Rub it onto eye with fingers. Removes all make up. Wipe clean with Muslin cloth.

Sorry forgot picture 🙄

Yes. I have these too. Cardboard tube box to keep them in and the bag for the used ones then in the wash . I use a balm to cleanse with ,these are so much more effective than cotton wool or disposable make up pads

I have round bamboo pads from a couple of makes so I have about 30. I use two per day usually (one with eye-makeup remover, one with cleanser - I use a flannel and face wash if I’ve no make up on) I put the used ones in a little net bag hanging in the bathroom and toss them in with towels and flannels every week. Make sure no fabric softener as they are less effective then. Haven’t used cotton wool on my face for years but still use cotton wool pads for nail varnish removal.

Flannels, I bought a pack of 12 off Amazon, hotel quality too

Face cloths. Last for years and go in the washing machine with the towels.

I’ve bought various reusable cotton pads which I wash from Amazon. Boots etc weren’t selling them then. I think after a year or so the manufacturer recommends you ditch them and get new ones.

I do occasionally use biodegradable Simple Wipes which go in the compost bin.

I also use a flannel and face wash some evenings too.

I just use coconut oil and then wipe the oil off with a flannel. I did have the reusable cotton pads, but they disappear into the washing machine and I never see them again!

I got this kit for my teenage goddaughter at Christmas with some other bits and she loves it.

The reusable cotton pads I’ve bought off Amazon have their own zipped wash bag to go into the washing machine with. Don’t lose any then!

Coconut oil contributes to underground fatbergs. They have to be broken up with horrible surfactant chemicals. That’s why I use balms or oils that emulsify when mixed with water.

FlappyValley · 10/02/2023 22:01

I have the Amazon ones mentioned upthread — though the irony of buying eco-friendly products from Amazon isn’t lost on me… will find a better supplier when I eventually need to buy some more, but they’re still going strong about 4 years later!

I make my own - 5 inch squares of bamboo terry backed with quilting cotton.

I've gifted them to loads of my friends too. No matter how many I have at home I still seem to need more though!

I increasingly use an oil cleanser e.g clinique take the day off.
