Have bras moved on?

As a teen I remember being grossed out by my mums grey "cross your heart" bra. I've been wearing underwire bras ever since. But maybe it's my turn to be stuck in a rut?

Has technology moved on? Do crop tops or bralettes offer enough support? (32DD ish))

Something comfortable but still with shape and support would be amazing!

Any recommendations?

I've tried all sorts of non wired bras, but they just don't give the same support or shape.

The shock absorber fly can look OK, but if you wear it tight enough to support, it's not comfortable for long. It's not supportive enough to run in though.

To add to my earlier comment, l think many people who find underwires uncomfortable are wearing the wrong size or wrong style for their body shape.

I have two Pour Moi Amour bras which are not underwired but have great shape and support.

I have these too! So comfy. I love a wireless bra, but being a 34G a lot of them make me look saggy and shapeless. The Amour was a game-changer.

Nope. I’m 42, since I was a teenager I’ve been back and forwards to all sorts of bra shops including Bravissimo and then using the boob or bust online thing everyone here champions. I’m definitely the size I think I am, and I’ve tried just about every shape and brand of bra out there. None are as comfortable as a non wired one. How could they be? Wearing something hard next to your skin is never going to be as comfortable as something soft. That’s just common sense. I genuinely think in the future women will look back on the underwired bras we used to wear and laugh in the same way we do when we see the whale boned corsets of old… !

I'm a 32F and haven't been back to underwrites since having babies either. I actually really like the Triumph Fit Smart (I think it's called), again not sexy but so comfortable and gives a nice shape as it's very lightly padded. I've got 3 different ones. They are expensive but I bought them on offer. I love them.
