Prescription glasses - any app to help choosing?

I hate choosing glasses, I don’t know what goes well for the shape of my face and skin colour. I don’t think the assistants know either. I always end up with basic boring glasses and regreted my latest choices so much.

My dress style is simple and now that I have a short haircut and stopped dying my hair, I would like to wear more interesting, trendy glasses because the ones I have makes me feel much older than my age (45)

Is there an app I can use?
When I read articles online with photos etc, it does make sense to me and when I’m at the shop I get so overwhelmed, I end up choosing the easy, safe options.

I’m quick to recognise when I hate a pair but can’t recognise when something looks good / suitable and I don’t dare getting something a bit more fun :(

I have a problem choosing glasses frames as well OP. I can be there for bloody hours! Our opticians is fab though, and they love to help.

(One of my 20 something daughters also wears glasses and she looks good in every bloomin' frame she tries on! We usually go together and the optician receptionists are always determined to find a frame which doesn't look good on her! 😂)

Two tips - for looking good :

  1. eyebrows - take notice of the top of the frames, do they follow your eye brow line? Do they hide your eyebrows? IMO they shouldn't 'fight' with your eyebrow shape iyswim?

  2. width of glasses compared to width of head - the outer tips of the frames shouldn't be narrower (or wider obvs) than your head.

I also hate choosing glasses. I go to independent if possible and they can be pretty expensive. But I reckon if I'm getting glasses that I will wear 16 hrs a day 365 days a year for 3-4 years, then it is worth paying for the right ones. (Whereas for a dress to wear once to a cousins wedding, I go cheap)

I'd love recommendations for the name of an app to try if anyone has one.

Go to the most expensive independent optician you can find. Try on all the frames. Shortlist a few. Send pictures. Then canvass opinions.
