Has anyone tried this and if so would you recommend?

I have IPL for rosacea, which manifested as severe facial flushing triggered by heat, eating hot food or drink, stress, exercise, and alcohol. It caused me a lot of embarrassment, particularly when people would comment that my face was red. Although I didn't have permanent redness, I knew that prolonged flushing could eventually develop into that, so I decided to get treatment for it.

The IPL is not a cure, and I have been having it for about 20 years. I started with a course of 6, with 4-week intervals. Now I have maintenance treatments twice a year. It isn't cheap, though. However, it has made a massive difference to my skin and flushing, so I have no regrets about the money I have spent.

I only suffered from a few tiny thread veins and did not find IPL particularly great at eradicating them - I had electrolysis to remove those. IPL would probably work better if the veins were more prominent.

So yes, I would recommend it.

To add. Your face can go very red immediately after treatment. It does sting and feels like a sunburn for a few hours afterwards. In the beginning, my face would sometimes swell a little, mainly around the eye and cheeks and could last up to 1 to 3 days.

Thanks @9outof10cats that's really good to hear.
That was one of my questions; how long does it last. I have rosacea too and I'm very red around my chin/mouth and I feel very self-conscious about it. I've found a local ish lady who has very good reviews, and I've seen it's quite pricey - but I'm prepared to spend the money if it's effective!

You are welcome.

You could always ask just to have a test patch done first if you are a bit nervous about it.
