Indoor gloves - Eczema

Hi

I'm having some issues on my right hand, the doctor is not sure what it is yet, I am taking antibiotics and hydrocortisone cream - I've never had anything like this before

I will need to go into the office on Monday and Wednesday and even though I use my own keyboard and mouse, I am feeling self conscious

Is there anywhere where I can buy some soft indoor gloves? I know it won't be discreet but it is better that have people being secretly scared of contamination or something - I will tell people it is eczema

I've looked online on amazon but the gloves they have look thick and are either black or white... in my mind I see something very thin, maybe skin colour and easy to type / write with

Does it even exist?

Try silk or bamboo gloves.

For the office, fingerless gloves keep your hands protected while still letting you type and write.

Seconding fingerless gloves. Easy to claim you have cold hands.

You can get thin cotton gloves on Amazon. Thinner lesser quality will be best as they’ll be thin enough to type through.

Whatever you do make sure whatever gloves you get are made from breathable fabric. If your skin gets over warm or damp it will make whatever it is much much worse.

I have eczema but I have also had fungal skin infections that have presented like eczema. If the hydrocortisone doesn’t help I’d try an anti fungal cream.

I like both of these and have a stash. I suppose if you wanted to you could cut the fingers off them. The justgloves ones are longer and cover the wrist but are a bit thinner than the boots ones

When I went to copy the just gloves link I saw this one but I've never had them so couldn't say how they are

May sound blatantly obvious but don't forget that as they are next to your skin all day, make sure that you wash them in a detergent that you know won't bother your skin (non-bio type normally) and rinse them properly.

If they get really grubby, I put them in the machine with the bio detergent with the other whites and wash them on hot to clean them thoroughly. Then I wash them again with non-bio and then do an extra clean water rinse. Both the ones I posted above that I've used can be washed at 60 degrees without shrinking - but don't tumble dry them - that does cause shrinking at least I found that.

Also be careful about buying these types of gloves on Amazon if the material is important to you - make sure you read reviews and check the seller. I've come a cropper a couple of times buying "silk" ones that have turned out to be suspiciously polyester!

thanks, unfortunately I left it to last minute, they wouldn't be delivered before I need to go to the office but I will keep in mind in case I don't find anything else

I'd maybe try some outdoor type stores this weekend, they are likely to have something like that (Milletts, Cotswold Outdoor, that sort of place).

Boots sell the bamboo spa gloves in store. Can you pop into a boots tomorrow?

Hi, I bought a pair on amazon that pretty much cover the fingers leaving only the tip visible but the hands are looking worse so I’m not going to the office tomorrow
