How do I put these earrings in?

I've recently had my hair cut short for first time ever so I'm experimenting with drop earrings.
I've bought a pair with a hook closure like this with a drop threaded on the hoop. So pretty
For the love of god, I struggle to get them into my pierced ears. I managed it once and it was difficult, hurt and I don't fancy trying the same way again.
My ears have been pierced for over 20 years, straightforward traditional lobe piercing. No infections ever, so no scar tissue. The lobe and hole is soft, which means if you're not at the right angle, you can stick the point sideways into the soft tissue.
I have proper free lobes not dainty lobeless ears

Is there a technique I'm missing?
Should I be inserting from front or back? Upside down?

How do I put these earrings in?

I think you are going to have to feed the "up hook" part in flat from the front, puling your ear lobe down to increase the hole size, and then sorta tilt the earing on to the rest of the hoop as you feed it through.

I can see why it would be painful, to try and do this especially with the non dominant hand side.

My hoops feed into themselves to lock in so it's just one swift movement through.

Thread the 'male' part through the lobe - it shouldn't hurt as can position at a 90 degree angle then turn once through. Then feed male into female. I normally put them in upside down then twist when in.

I find these sort of earrrings fine to put in. Maybe try going slower and using a magnifying mirror to help you get the angle right

Thank you. Off to try again.
The main problem is the female loop gets in the way as I'm trying to feed the male point through

If all else fails, I'll buy a pair of simple hooks to dangle the glass drop from

@BruceAndNosh - try parting the earrings slightly to the side (rather than pulling the opening further apart) and putting in like a side tackle! (Such a bad description - sorry!)

Pointy end front to back? Or from back to the front?

Thread pointy end from front through to back.

I've just tried mine and seem to place them upside down when doing it then once through twist - not sure if this is advisable or useful! I remember being flummoxed at first.

Good luck!
