Looking for something to stop my fine, menopausal hair from frizzing giving me a delightful 'mad-scientist' look.

There are so many Olaplexs, I need some help please .

The No 5 conditioner looked a posssible?

Anyone please?

The shampoo and conditioner is not really going to do anything. If you want the benefit of olaplex you'll need 0 & 3. 3 at least if not 0.

Alternatively K18 is a similar thing but easier to use imo. You just use after shampoo instead of conditioner.

With olaplex you need to apply to damp hair. Wait min 10 min then shampoo and conditioner.

Separately, menopause does change our hair. If you hair is frizzy it's that the actual hairs are no longer smooth. They change to kinky and twisted. No product applied to the hair will change this.

Chemicals can but you may not want that. Hair colour smooths it. If you don't want to colour, a clear glossing will help for a few weeks

I got a sample of no 6 which I think might work for you. I’ve ended up putting too much on so it’s made my hair a bit flat but definitely helps with frizz and smoothies as a stand alone product. I don’t really want to have to buy more than one of the products.

They do a lot with a full size 0 and 3 and 100ml 4 and 100ml 5, id recommended that to start with. I normally get 3 uses out of the 0 & 3 but I've got quite long & thick hair (extensions).

I'd definitely do 0 then 3, but leave 3 on overnight. I've got the entire range and 6 and 8 are nice extras but 9 is awful I think. If you want the proper effects i unfortunately think you have to really invest in the majority of the range. Picking and choosing certain bits can end up leaving your hair feeling worse.

I use 3 and 6, and it's helped my hair. I loved K18 at first, but it's made my hair really dry despite following their instructions.

Sitting here after applying 3 for the first TUI me. Will keep you posted after shower!

Looks like a deep conditioner might be best. I have used the Philip Kingsley Elasterizer in the past, is the no 3 similar to that please?

The number 3 has made it beautifully soft and I have while head of highlights so it is usually dry.

WetBandits · 24/01/2023 15:26

I use 3 and 6.

3: once or twice a month.
6: after most washes.

WetBandits · 24/01/2023 15:27

I’ve tried the shampoo and conditioner but I have masses of thick hair so I felt like I was using half a small bottle for one wash!

notanicepersonapparently · 24/01/2023 15:57

I’ve used number 3 and the conditioner. I got number 3 because my hair was breaking so every time I brushed it I was covered in little bits about an inch long. It did work to strengthen my hair and I now use it once a week to maintain it It doesn’t solve the frizz though for me. I need a serum or hair oil to help with that. There may be a product in the olaplex range that would work for frizz but it’s not No 3 in my experience.

No. PK is a deep conditioner. Olaplex is a bond repair system. It repairs the internal bonds. It doesn't condition unless you buy the conditioner. But that doesn't have enough of the active ingredient to repair bonds. It's just a conditioner. 0&3 together contains the most bond repair ingredient. (1&2 are in-salon formulations).
