Sudocream overnight- miracle cream.

wickerhearth · 20/01/2023 13:02

I started lately using Sudocream overnight as a night cream, I don't have any acne or eczema and I'm mid 30, not a lot wrinkles etc.
I just like to try different products.

The results in the morning are really great.
My face looks rejuvenated and my wrinkles less visible. And it did not clogging my pores.

Just sharing in case someone would be interested to try it as well.:)

Isn't it antiseptic though? I can imagine it taking a layer off my sensitive skin Shock

Hollyhocksandtulips · 20/01/2023 13:04

My teen DS swears by it for acne but I'm not sure my face would thank me for using it !

KirstenBlest · 20/01/2023 13:05

Only on spots

Yes I heard it as well, should be very good for acne as well.

If you use it overnight for acne, is there any residue in the morning and what do you do about it?

OhWifey · 20/01/2023 13:11

I use it this way too. My skin looks great the next day.

For the PP asking about residue, there's none and my skin is actually less greasy than when I use my normal moisturiser.

ElvisCymraeg · 20/01/2023 13:11

This works for me if I do it about once a month, otherwise it's a bit too harsh. I'm a recent convert to slugging though- Never thought it would work because how on earth can the skin breathe under a layer of Vaseline?! But it's made a world of difference to my very dry skin.

I don't have any acne, and there's not much residue in the morning, although I'm not splatter my face with the thick layer in the evening.

Sarah Vine (of all people) recommended it for the really annoying menopausal chin spots. Worked in 2 days, didn't need a huge layer or anything.

Try a good retinol. It'll blow your mind.

Good tip for Harry there, once he's finished his Elizabeth Arden cream.

Warm a blob in your hands and gently smooth over your face if acne or sore skin. Works well and all absorbed by morning.

Superdrug Optimum is excellent and very affordable, as is the Cera Ve retinol serum.

This was Irelands secret for the past 80 years. It is a true miracle cream - never without a pot or two in the house - a shame it is going from Ireland to Bulgaria now.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 20/01/2023 15:33

I am Irish so grew up with this product which we used for everything. Did you know it is an Irish product made in Dublin which used to be called Soothing Cream but with the strong Dub accent they called it Sudocrem. It is great for dry skin, spots blemishes even on my feet leaves them feeling so soft. Always have some in my bathroom.

Crybaby96 · 20/01/2023 15:50

If my roseaca flares up I use sudocrem overnight and dramatically improves by the morning. Irish here to so we basically use it on everything!

ShandaLear · 20/01/2023 15:54

I use it overnight every month or two. It really takes the heat out of my skin.

Darkdiamond · 20/01/2023 15:58

I get acne and it makes zero difference unfortunately 😕 breastmilk didn't cure every skin ailment on my kids either 😆 am happy it's worked for others though!

littlefireseverywhere · 20/01/2023 17:07

I use sudocream on everything too. A pharmacist recommended it when DC were newborn for my c section scar that was infected. Cleared up overnight, it goes on here- 18 years later!

I never knew this- love it!

It's a brilliant product, my mum used it on us when we were babies and I used it on mine. Always have a tub in for myself too, brilliant for loads of things.

AliceMcK · 20/01/2023 17:41

We call it magic cream in our house, might be having Irish parents but we always had it a great supply growing up and I have kept that up, I’ve even got small pots I keep in my handbags. We use it for everything from cuts, eczema, spots, dry skin patches, nappy rash, dry lips, sun burn.

I don’t put it on my face every night but do when I feel I need it, usually if I have a breakout, my skin always feels nice afterwards.

My relative used to work for them! Tosara Products. It is indeed Magic Cream (as its known in my house)

SongforWhoever · 20/01/2023 18:09

I find Sudocrem makes my skin itch and burn. Some people are allergic to it.
