Perfume vs Fabric Softener

Hi,

I have recently started trying some perfume samples but am aware my fabric softener smells quite strong too. What fabric softener do you use that doesn't overpower the perfume? Is there unscented fabric softener?

Drying inside doesn't make clothes smell...

You soon adjust to the crunchiness, we stopped using it when the DCs were babies as I didn't want the fragrance on their skin and have never gone back, if for any reason someone washes our clothes with it now (eg staying at someone's house) it feels really weird, all floppy and and a bit slimy.

White vinegar 'descales' the clothes meaning no crunchiness and no sliminess from softener

Ooh thanks. Do they sell white vinegar with the eating vinegar?

White vinegar can cause your WM door seals to perish over time apparently. It happened to us, and we'd only used it a few times, in the hopes of descaling the machine, might have been coincidence but we've never used it again. It didn't make any noticeable difference to the clothes either, although I don't think hard water is what makes them crunchy as we now have a water softener and they are the same as they were before. But as I said, I don't like floppy clothes so it's fine.

Ok not vinegar. I'm going to try the ecover unscented stuff a PP suggested

This is very upsetting! Ffs.

I've found it really good for the clothes, but I don't want to fuck op my brand new machine...

Surcare or Ecover as suggested above.
I like to use fabric conditioner but find half to two thirds the recommended dose adequate.
