Trousers that aren't jeans but do the same job

I live in jeans, wear them most days. I have tshirts / jumpers / shirts etc all chosen around the fact that I live in jeans. Same with trainers and boots.

Except I keep getting bouts of thrush which noticeably improve if I wear looser clothing but my wardrobe in that area is limited.

What can I wear that are a similar cut as a Jean but comfier of crotch. Please recommend!

I haven't a huge budget but have a regular bit of money so could upgrade slowly over time. Help!

I'm not sure of your age but I've just bought some cords from M&S and they are very comfortable and high in waist but they may be too frumpy. Straight leg but so warm

watchfulwishes · 15/01/2023 17:22

Why do they need to be similar cut to jeans? I have taken to wearing nice wide-ish trousers and they look great with trainers etc. - would you consider something very different? Almost all of my tops go well with these trousers too.

Magic trousers are comfortable and flattering. You can get them on Amazon and eBay, they’re sort of like joggers but they aren’t made of jersey fabric x

BigFatLiar · 15/01/2023 17:25

Another here who wears cords (though I do also tend to wear skirts/dresses).
Being older no issue with big pants for underwear especially cotton thermals.

I find jeans too cold in winter so always wear similar styles in corduroy. Not sure they are any looser round the crotch but guess the material isn't as stiff. I absolutely love fine corduroy/needlecord. I think it's as timeless as denim.

I also have these which are a soft brown velvet.

I think the answer to why is "because i always wear them and they're my comfort zone". Which means the answer to the question of if I would consider something different is "yea I would love

I'm 41 if that helps. Not offended my cords but still trying to look relatively young and modern, although not hipster cut as I already wear big pants.

Chinos?

Can you recommend anywhere that does chinos with give? The last pair I bought (years ago) felt so stiff.

I highly highly recommend looking at UniGlo, their trousers are so comfy. An elasticated waist but it looks like a regular zipper/button, stretchy, lighter than jeans, easy to wash. I’ve got 4 pairs in different colours that have lasted 4 years (of working in a primary school) and I still love them.

Queenmargery · 15/01/2023 18:08

I have Marks and Spencers denim joggers, very comfortable.

Agree - ‘slouch’ style trousers look great with trainers and really comfortable and stylish.

I have been browsing at M&S and found this: www.marksandspencer.com/cosy-high-waisted-jeggings/p/clp60550212?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share

not sure if that’ll work as it just kept taking me to the app. But it’s the cosy jeggings. I find them comfy and look nice.

Try açai womenswear. If you like them I can send you a discount code if you want to share your email by pm. They are brilliant

AWaferThinMint · 25/01/2023 11:14

Just wanted to say thanks for all your trouser input. I went to M&S so I could try bits on and splurged on 3 new pairs of trousers in totally different styles. I'm already noticing the benefits of not being so restricted!
