How do I inject colour into my face (not literally) without aunt Sally vibes 😕

Hi,

I'm naturally quite pale with dark hair and green eyes. This used to be a nice contrast, but now I'm starting to look a bit dull and ill actually. I need brightening up basically!

Problem is, most colours don't suit me. The only blusher shade I can almost wear is a peach tone. Can't wear anything reddy or pinky at all! Just looks weird and I've tried so many variations!

Eye shadow never seems to suit me, unless it's very neutral and maybe with a bit of shimmer. Same with lipstick. I can only wear nude colours. Can't wear anything bold. Would love to pull off a gorgeous red like Mac Ruby Woo, but no.

I do need some colour now though. Can anyone recommend colours/products that would suit my features?

TIA

I like being pale too. Sometimes I like a tan for a change though as it makes me look completely different.
The tanning drops just brighten a bit though. Nigella Lawson might be a good example, she definitely warms her skin tone slightly.

I suit black, green and red too. Also white, bright pink and cobalt blue.

I would reiterate comments about lipstick. I found a bright colour does suit me it just took a while to get used to it. I can get a tan or build up colour on my face but the lipstick just makes me look less ghoulish!

@Montague22 hmm maybe I'll give them a go.

Regarding the red lipsticks, I have found shades that suit my skin tone, but (and I know this may sound strange) I think it makes my nose look bigger! I don't have a big nose, but it's certainly not small and I don't know why, but bold colours, like red, just seem to really emphasise it 🤷‍♀️

@TeeBee , forgot to say, I'm hearing mixed reviews about the Jones Road Miracle Balm. Some saying it's brilliant, some saying it's like a coloured vasaline, which you can't build up. Probably OK for me, because I'm not bothered about building up so much, as I want a very suitable hint of colour.

Anyone tried it?

How old are you? Golden age rosy glow? (L’Oreal I think)

Yes that's why I recommended it. I don't like wearing lots of make up. I like looking fresh and natural. It works for me.

Hi just jumping in, wondering if some of you could recommend a cream/and or gel blusher please?

I've used the brush on one up to now, but am getting on quite a bit so I might give the cream/gel a go to see how it goes.
