Hair saloon

I just booked an appointment at a posh hair saloon that I have never been before for colouring my hair.

They said colouring and blow drying should last approximately 3 hours but that depends on the hair etc. They charge per hour approximately £100/hour.

My issue is that I don’t want blow drying my hair. I have naturally curly hair and I don’t want to straighten them at the end nor I want to pay for it or stay another hour at the saloon for this reason.

What is the solution? What a saloon can do at the end at naturally curly hair rather than blow drying them and having them straight?

Talk to them at the beginning and explain you wear your hair curly. It will effect the cut you have, the products they use etc. It's in your hands to tell them you don't want it blow dried straight.
Although it sounds like you would benefit from a hairdresser who specialises in curly hair cutting and styling. If the stylist you are going to doesn't fully understand curly hair, they may cut it wrong.
It's salon, not saloon btw.

And it would be diffused dry or left to air dry. Hair isn't that wet by the time they finish cutting it anyway.

Make sure they’re not cowboys.

Oh yes salon, thanks, lol!

I am not having a cut there, I cut my hair dry at a curly hair specialist that knows curly hair well.

I will just go for colouring to them… Is it too much of a risk you think?

It’s not the end of the world, I can then come back home and have a shower and let them dry naturally. It’s just the money and time involved in straightening them.

From experience most salons the only thing they do at the end is to blow drying them straight… Am I right? Did any of you ever given any other option at the end of your appointment?

Just tell them you don't want it dried then. They'll colour it and wash it etc, then you leave with wet hair and sort it out at home.

When booking the appointment you should have told them that you have curly hair as this may affect the stylist they give you and the procedure of the cut (some stylists prefer to cut curly hair dry). I think you should call them back and tell them you have curly hair.

I just tell them if I don't want it dried or straightened

Thank you all. Yes, I called them and explained my hair are curly.

I don’t think they will let me go out of their posh salon with wet hair.

Do you know whether hair salons can do a different drying like with a hair diffuser rather than straightening?

Yes they can do different drying styles eg diffuser.
But they can't make you , if you don't want to have it dried just say so.
