That will go into boots, that won't dig into my tummy. Is this the holy grail of trouser? Has anybody found them? 🙏

Your holy grail awaits you at Uniqlo

I've had some very nice cuffed joggers from F&F recently. They're about £14, nice heavyweight material. They wash well. I wear them over boots due to the cuff but that could be unpicked and tucked in I guess. Definitely smarter than leggings.

ShaunaTheSheep · 10/01/2023 15:26

Oo. How do you find the sizing, looks to me like M = size 10?!

Swanna · 10/01/2023 15:54

Saint and Sofia look perfect but too ££, Uniqlo look spot on! Are they soft and roomy?

I'm just going to put it out there... Saint and Sofia are shite

Crap quality and appalling customer services.

I questioned something and they blocked me instead of replying.

And honestly. The trousers I got were twice the price and shit flimsy quality. Have had better pairs from m&s

Cor blimey £17.50 for one pair of leggings?!

Seriously? You are complaining about £17.50? What are you expecting an item of clothing to cost? A fiver?

LutherRalph1 · 10/01/2023 16:05

Sainsburys have quite a few ponte trousers at the moment

SarahMused · 10/01/2023 16:12

I’m a size 10 and take a small in Uniqlo. Can recommend those leggings mentioned above.

Swanna · 10/01/2023 16:20

Sorry to offend you Venus but we're talking leggings here - you know, not that substantial

Yes, but check the sizing. I'm a 12/14 and wear size L.

The fabric is thick but stretchy, and very comfy. And the waist is reasonably high with a deep stretchy waistband. I have a few pairs.

RosyappleA · 10/01/2023 17:02

Every year I look at the skinny ankle grazer trousers with stretch from m&s. They are on sale. They say trousers but they are really an in between of leggings and trousers. Very flattering. They are very stretchy so can accommodate different body shapes and wash well. They look the same a year later.

roughtyping · 10/01/2023 17:16

Love Leggings do work trousers. I love them, find them really comfortable and they do petite/tall versions too. I think their work trousers might be size up but not 100% - there's a wee size guide bit which says size up/down/normal for each product.

Roxie99 · 10/01/2023 17:31

I've got some smart ones from Sainsbury perfect for me being short too from the petite section! Sorry can't do a fancy link
These

M&S do lots of nice tapered and wide leg options, they're as comfy as joggers but look smarter

Yes,M and S,they've really upped their game recently.

corcaithecat · 10/01/2023 17:50

I buy nice printed ponte knit stretch fabric from Holland and Germany and make my own. Once you’ve found a good pattern that fits well or adapted one, you can make loads of pairs in no time at all.

Spanielsarepainless · 10/01/2023 17:51

Starfish tapered leg trousers from Lands End. I have half a dozen pairs.

BumBumBumBumBum · 10/01/2023 17:52

So you want comfy elasticated "trousers" that are "smarter than leggings", everyone posts leggings, then you moan about the price of the leggings suggested even though that's seemingly not what you wanted from your title post?

Why didn't you just ask if anyone knew about any cheap leggings under a tenner?

MrsCarson · 10/01/2023 17:52

M&S Jeggings I just bought some for the first time ever. Love them. Go into the store and try them on. Dd says they are small, but I think they are fine size wise.

Oblomov22 · 10/01/2023 17:55

I'm looking for similar, but not jeggings, more proper trousers.

Swanna · 10/01/2023 18:22

Groan, there's always one or two that have to pick everything apart and make an argument about something as trivial as leggings!

Anyway, great suggestions for what I was really looking for or NOT leggings

OP posts:
Swanna · 10/01/2023 18:22

ie, not or!
