Has anyone had one and would you recommend? Also, for those who have, how did it look immediately afterwards and how long did it take to settle? Could I go and do the school run on the same afternoon without getting funny looks?

Bumping, as I’d love to know people’s opinions too!

I've not heard of these, is it something to do with blood?

Penguinsmum · 14/01/2023 20:09

I've had it twice. (My SIL is a cosmetic doctor) but I didn't see much difference. I wouldn't pay for it.

StephanieSuperpowers · 15/01/2023 18:48

Had it once. It looked horrendous for a short while afterwards, brilliant for a couple of days and then back to normal. Fine, but I just wouldn't bother again.

Do you mean a PRP facial? I have had the one where they draw your blood, spin it and inject the plasma back into your face. Course of 3, hurt like a bugger, cost a lot. You don’t get immediate results. It’s intended to increase collagen production at is a long-term preventative measure. I have to say I won’t be repeating it. I can’t really see a difference although perhaps I will in 6 months time but honestly I’m pretty doubtful. Whereas Profhilo is something else I tried for the first time last year too and I’m now committed to keeping that topped up. It’s cheaper too.
After the PRP facial you look odd for the rest of the day because you leave the collagen on your skin until the next day. Your skin looks a bit like you have left some peel-off mask on and have forgotten to peel it off. It soaks in overnight and you just wash in the morning and then you look normal again.

Thanks for the responses, seems like generally consensus is that it isn't worth it. Good to know before wasting money on it!

Could you tell me a bit more info about the profhilo please? How it's done and why you like it?

There are a series of great blog posts here - www.revitaliseskin.co.uk/blog - and one is about Profhilo
