Curlys - please give me your tips

My hair is similar as the model on the picture - I thinks is 3b type? But I have a short cut now because I am transitioning to grey.

Looking for good products especially a hair dryer with diffuser that is not too noisy - shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, gel, mousse etc - I have notice that the grey strands are much more drier.

Thanks!

Don't use a regular shampoo. Use a co-wash with the occasional wash using a sulphate free shampoo. Try and only 'wash' it once a week or less.
Don't brush your hair, just use your fingers to comb through it every now and again. I do this daily then spray it with a water/curly gel mix and give it a scrunch to revitalise the curls.
Make sure when you sleep you aren't squashing your hair under you, I always pile mine on the top of my head with my hands, then let it go ones I've laid down.
Umberto giannini and cantu brands are both specialised for curly hair, these are what I used regularly.

Also using a hair dryer will always result in some frizz so ideally let it air dry but if you can't wait use the hair dryer on the coolest setting you can and flip your head forwards to dry it.

That is my biggest struggle - to not wash often especially since using styling products 🥲

I just bought the brand As I Am - co-wash, hair mask, clarifying shampoo and leave in

Hope it is good
I will check your suggestions

omg I use it on the high heat / low wind as a curly hair stylist showed me years and years ago

maybe I misunderstood the advice! 🙈

Only Curls has transformed my curls.

I second only Curls. I use their curl gel. Only available online . Good website with useful curly care tips. I do wash with faith in nature products. The most g for me has been avoiding silicone in all its forms.

'That is my biggest struggle - to not wash often especially since using styling products 🥲'

I wash my hair with shampoo twice a week and it's perfectly happy. I tried only washing with conditioner but my scalp was constantly itchy.

I think most people get on well with the advice to never brush dry curls, avoid silicones and sulphates and avoid rough towel drying, just squeeze the water out gently instead. Other than that, it's trial and error I'm afraid!

Any specific heating protector to be used before the diffuser?
And would the type of diffuser make a difference?

Use a cotton t shirt or microfibre towel instead of a normal towel, it helps with frizz. Apply gel to soaking wet hair. I was dubious about that at first but it really makes a difference- hair is much softer and less frizzy. I use the Diffon Belissima diffuser, it makes a difference. Use it on the lower setting. I've used expensive and cheaper products and haven't found much difference in results to be honest. I like L'Oréal Invisigel.
