I have bought a half price Mint Velvet sequin shirt , a silky long dressing gown and a short quilted jacket. I have bought some hair products with 10% off.

I haven't bought a single thing since before Christmas (other than food & wine!)
But I had gone a little bit mad in December as there were some good sales then.
I'd like a new coat & I'm also repeatedly looking at a bag I like so it's only a matter of time I reckon....
I also need sensible things like work trousers but that's no fun so I keep putting it off!

DedicatedFolllowerofFashion · 05/01/2023 15:19

Not many people then?

You know about my fleece! 😉

LookdeepintotheAdvent · 05/01/2023 15:43

I've had a teddy coat in my basket at M&S since the sale started. The first reduction was rubbish but went down to 40% off today so I'm glad I waited to buy it!

Bought some reduced Christmas gift sets from Liz Earle website as much cheaper than buying the individual items. I've also bought another beauty advent calendar just to get me through January!

Nothing else seems reduced enough to bother with so far. The sales haven't been that good imo 🤷

dontgobaconmyheart · 05/01/2023 15:49

Absolutely nothing.

I don't need any clothes and besides haven't seen anything that excites me or any particularly good sale offers regardless. I don't know if I'm just more discerning or tight fisted than I used to be but most of the sales just seem like things that were never likely to sell anyway ,less popular or garish colourways of styles or the discount isn't particularly deep (20 or 30% which you can get throughout the year at some point or other).

I'm debating getting a nuface mini but again would want more off of one than I've currently seen in the Jan sales so will either wait or do without.

Otherwise all I've bought are some of the Eucerin creams I use religiously as a couple of them are about to run out and they're a 1/3 off at Escentual so not a bad saving on something I'd have bought regardless.

All very boring, I know.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/01/2023 15:56

Nothing, although I'm eyeing up some Esska shoes in the sale which I don't need so I'm going to sit on my hands and see if they get reduced further.

I bought an insanely expensive bottle of perfume the other day instead of a load of stuff I'll regret buying and not wear. Was lucky with the perfume as it was priced wrong and the shop honoured it, which they didn't have to do but was very nice of them.

beguilingeyes · 05/01/2023 15:57

I bought a fair isle jumper for less than half price from White Stuff and that's it. Keeping an eye out for advent calendar reductions but not tempted yet.
Still upset about a beautiful Hobbs coat I saw in TK Maxx and didn't buy...

FirThusThraed · 05/01/2023 15:59

It's sometime quite nice to wait and buy something "new season". I saw that guy Mark from Lorraine in an M and S sale and he was showing bright orange and pink trousers - masses of them. The thing that puts me off buying is that I have the eternal hope of losing weight !

Rina66 · 05/01/2023 16:05

A coat and dress from H & M
Boots from M & S

LimeCheesecake · 05/01/2023 16:17

I have bought a Boden dress that apparently has just been delivered to home, and I’ve done a click and collect on a second pair of the M&S wide leg trousers everyone was getting in Autumn, this time the red pair (already have them in black).

but after ordering both of those, I found my car needed some work that’s setting me back £200ish, so that’s my fun money budget gone until Spring…

Karmagoat · 05/01/2023 16:23

A jumper from H&M, some makeup from ELF and a pair of earrings from Pandora

Zebracat · 05/01/2023 16:36

Just ordered some khaki trousers, a striped merino jumper, a cream top and a supportive bra from M&S. Quite pleased with myself as they are all things I actually need, and the whole lot was £55.00. I would love a fairisle jumper, there are several I like in Plumo, Toast, and House of Bruar, trying to decide between them, but they are still a lot of money.

bornonvalentines · 05/01/2023 16:38

I'm pregnant, which has curtailed my shopping a bit, and also not in the UK. But I've bought the Princess Diana Warm and Wonderful sheep jumper, these JCrew Boots in both grey and tan and a load of boring maternity clothes from H&M and equally boring work maternity clothes from Hatch.

And the Antherium Overose candle from Sephora, which is sort of style and beauty I suppose.

CoffeeBoy · 05/01/2023 16:49

I got this jumper here. Like the colour combo.

Giftwithpurchase · 05/01/2023 17:23

I've bought two pairs of Thea joggers and a black wool jumper from Hush. I also bought an oversized sweatshirt but it made me look like a box so I sent it back.
Also waiting on two merino T-shirts from sweaty betty and a black cotton mock next from seasalt which will hopefully mean I can get more wear from my v neck jumpers which I don't wear much in winter.
Also dithering on some Pixi primer oil and rose facial mist - my skin is so dry. But feel guilty buying them as have so much skincare from my JL advent!
I have listed and sold quite a bit so don't feel too guilty. Plus I went through my wardrobe yesterday and figured out what I actually wear .. black, navy, grey 😂

Montague22 · 05/01/2023 17:24

I’ve bought two sports bras from Sweaty Betty (this seems to be my annual thing). And though technically not the sale I have just bought an amazing Irish Wool Cape from the local charity shop, I’ve never got lucky charity shopping before and it was in the window calling to me! Very happy!

ChocChipOwl · 05/01/2023 17:37

I was lucky enough to get some bits from the Liberty sale. Usually I'm too late

Bobbi Brown foundation £10

Tana dressing gown - was £235, got it for £25

Gold and diamond initial earring - was £290, got it for £90

Fragrance advent - was £250 (I think!) got it for £55

rookiemere · 05/01/2023 17:40

I've bought a pleated animal print skirt and a black going out top , both from a boutique that I go to frequently. I tried them both on pre sale but at over £100 for the skirt and £50 for the top, I couldn't justify them.
Delighted to get them half price, but feeling slightly guilty for the shop owner.

bornonvalentines · 05/01/2023 17:58

@Giftwithpurchase - do you mind me asking which site you list things on? Thank you

Danioo · 05/01/2023 17:59

I bought loads in the Mint Velvet sale, was hoping to try on and send half back but seem to have kept it all! Oops

Bideshi · 05/01/2023 18:02

Dress from Cos, trousers from Brora and 2 pairs of boots from Moshulu. I'm not done yet though.
