What daily moisturiser with SPF do you rate?

Just that really.

I'm currently using Gruum SPF 25 moisturising and it's OK but just not quite right. I use Skin&me and generally burn easily so I guess I need SPF 15 minimum.

I have no idea what my skin actually needs right now so I'm wondering what you guys like?

If you have tretinoin in your Skin and Me prescription you’d ideally use SPF50. It’s better to use two separate products. Alpha H Essential moisturiser is a good hybrid.

Littleguggi · 01/01/2023 21:20

I'm also looking for one, currently using Paula's Choice

Iamnotausername · 01/01/2023 21:20

Thanks @TheOGCCL

I'm on Tretinoin 0.009% (which is new this month),
Niacinamide 4%
Azelaic Acid 4%.

I will increase the SPF then. :)

I hate feeling stuff on my skin which is why I was looking at an SPF moisturiser. Sun cream by itself seems to make my skin greasy and spotty.

I've never really liked any of the Paula's Choice stuff I've tried. What is the moisturiser like? @Littleguggi

I love the La Roche Posay invisible fluid for my face (SPF 50)

Dogsarebetterthanhumans · 01/01/2023 21:29

La Roche Posay invisible fluid SPF 50 as above x

Iamnotausername · 01/01/2023 21:30

Is the La Posey a moisturiser though? Or do I still need a moisturiser? I'm being thick and it seems to just be a suncream?

I use this in winter:

www.boots.com/boots-collagen-day-cream-spf30-50ml-10292196

And this in summer: www.amazon.co.uk/Biore-Watery-Essence-Sunscreen-SPF50/dp/B01MTDFFQ5

I'm also using the same Skin&Me formula as OP, which I've been on for just over a year now.

endlesscraziness · 01/01/2023 21:32

I use Eucerin Anti pigment spf. It's not greasy and I use it instead of a moisturizer. Also like their gel cream spf.

minidancer · 01/01/2023 21:33

I've always used expensive spfs (ZO etc) but recently ran out so just grabbed a nivea spf 50 shine control and I really like it. I'm prone to breakouts and have combination skin. It's less than £10 so might be worth a try. I also use skin and me so think you need at least an spf 30

Iamnotausername · 01/01/2023 21:37

I'm only on my second month. First month was ok but now my skin is going haywire. :(

I've not been looking after myself generally though so I'm not sure how much is the SKin + me.

How is your skin @thenightsky

I'm currently using Nip + Fab Illuminate SPF30, but sometimes I use La Roche-Posay Hyalu. The Hyalu is only really for very dry skin, if it's humid then the Nip + Fab works better for me.

TheVikingGirl · 01/01/2023 21:47

I use this so lightweight and good protection, little goes a long way and does not break the bank Body Shop spf 50

NameIsBryceQuinlan · 01/01/2023 22:25

Have you tried Korean ones?

Beauty Of Joseon do a great one.

Can get from stylevana website

thenightsky · 01/01/2023 23:14

@Iamnotausername

My skin went all tight and weird on about month 2 or 3, so I cut it down to every other night and used a bland simple moisturiser at the same time. It settled very quickly. I'm a year in now and on the highest tret dose (can't remember numbers, but its not changed for the last 8 months now). I'm happy with the results... I'm 63 and my skin looks like my friend's who is a good 10 years younger.

tpmumtobe · 01/01/2023 23:19

Colorescience Sunforgettable Face Shield (mineral, goes on a bit greasy but sets down to a glowy dewy finish)

Avene B Protect (chemical) changes colour to suit your skintone, clever stuff.

Mrcpy · 02/01/2023 07:48

I normally use Nivea Shine Control which is a dedicated SPF 50 but also provides my skin with enough moisture without a moisturiser. My skin doesn’t like too many things sitting on it, it’s prone to greasiness.

Currently I’m trying the Dermatologica moisturiser with SPF 50 as it came in the JL advent calendar. It’s nice, but I still prefer the Nivea and will go back to it once the Dermatologica is used up.

SheSawSeaShore · 02/01/2023 11:11

@Mrcpy I also usually use the Nivea spf50 shine control (and really like it) and have the dermalogica one from the JL advent calendar waiting for when I finish my current tube of Nivea! Interesting to hear you’ll be going back to the Nivea. I’m excited to try the dermalogica but it’s so much more expensive that it would have to be significantly better for me to switch.

@Iamnotausername I find I can use plenty of the Nivea (so am confident I’m using enough to provide the stated SPF) and it leaves my skin moisturised but not feeling at all greasy or shiny.

Niftythrifter · 02/01/2023 13:06

Garnier do a SPF 50 that I have made the switch to after using LRP as recommended by previous posters. It’s much cheaper www.boots.com/ambre-solaire-ultra-light-sensitive-face-fluid-spf50plus-40ml-10274049

llewejk · 06/01/2023 19:49

Last year I used nivea uv face shine control spf50 (even the hubby and daughter were stealing it!).

Previous years I've used heliocare 360 oil free gel spf 50, which is also a little tinted. So heliocare I would wear without makeup.

Lookingoutside · 06/01/2023 21:49

Cerave SPF 50

Pollokshields · 07/01/2023 12:41

I only use Green People

MavisMcMinty · 07/01/2023 15:45

I use Ultrasun Tinted Face all summer as my moisturiser and foundation. You’re supposed to use it on a clean bare face, so as soon as I’m done with outdoors for the day, I take it off and apply my lively serums etc in the evening. Unlike every other SPF moisturiser I’ve used, it lasts all day, no reapplication required in normal UK sunshine.

MavisMcMinty · 07/01/2023 15:45

Lovely serums, not lively!
