Do you wear make up when at home

If you have no plans to leave the house do you wear make up? Wear nice stuff? Everyday I'm just in comfy sweats and no make up but I always feel like rubbish. Equally though it seems a waste when I'm not going out

It's my bit of happiness as sad as that sounds
It doesn't. I think it's only sad if you don't enjoy it.

Bestcatmum · 31/12/2022 13:11

I always wear it even though I'm single and intend to remain so. It makes me feel better. I'm in a tracksuit though.

Throughabushbackwards · 31/12/2022 13:14

I wear SPF 25 tinted moisturiser every day, at home or out and about. It's a habit and it makes me look and feel better.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 31/12/2022 13:18

No, because I cant be bothered basically. I'm either working from home, and Teams seems to make me look half decent to be fair. Or I'm on a day off and very likely to fall asleep on the sofa and dont need it all rubbing off on there 😆

I only wear make up when I'm going to the office, or out of an evening.

Cellotapedispenser · 31/12/2022 13:23

I do. Every single day unless I'm ill. Same routine everyday takes 5 mins and I use 8 items. I could probably do it without the mirror these days. I just feel horrible, ill looking and undressed without it. If I'm going 'out out', then that's 20 mins of faffy blending and highlighting so that's more of a faff.

pocketvenuss · 31/12/2022 13:28

Usually but I just love applying makeup. I find it very mediative and a nice little routine to start my day.

Which one do you use?

PaperBagsAreUselessInRain · 31/12/2022 13:36

No I never have.

I do usually make my hair semi presentable or tie it up in a bun

RosyappleA · 31/12/2022 13:58

Love my ultrasun tinted face fluid or heliocare (for more colour)as I feel I look healthier and being a busy mum its just so effortless and hopefully I wont age as fast. I don’t need foundation anymore because of this my skin just looks fresher. This and some black eyeliner smudged and a lip balm. I can’t do masacara daily as I have no patience taking it off well and if I don’t it dries my eyes.
Microblading eyebrows if you can afford it otherwise filling them in and using a gel to set.
For clothes I love long-lasting basics as they are versatile but I do dress up if i am out. Not just joggers.
Uniqlo for smart looking loungewear.

Baldieheid · 31/12/2022 14:03

No makeup. Skincare and hair, yes, and my scent. If I do wear makeup, it's eyeshadow, liner and mascara, plus a brush through my brows. I generally don't do makeup as my skin doesn't like it and rashes appear.

BamBamBilla · 31/12/2022 14:19

Always wear Blush and lipbalm but that's about it. Sometimes mascara when I look particularly pale.

TheOGCCL · 31/12/2022 14:27

If I know I'm not going out (max one day a week), then no. I think skin benefits from a day off and you can put on a facemask or heavier moisturiser instead.

But I also think skin benefits from fresh air so wouldn't not go out for days on end and if I'm going out I always wear some form of make up, to avoid scaring small children at the very least.

lindyloo57 · 31/12/2022 14:41

I do , I'm quite pale too, I use eborian cc cream, blusher eyeliner mascara, sometimes a bronzer, I just feel better to face the day with makeup on.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 31/12/2022 14:42

I am someone who always wears make-up if I'm going out, but if I'm staying at home I wouldn't think of putting make-up on, unless I have visitors coming (I expect my family to cope with seeing me without and not worry that I look ill or washed out).

RinklyRomaine · 31/12/2022 14:43

Yes every day unless I'm really unwell. I love the ritual, I prefer my face with it, and I feel like I'm prepped for the day ahead. Even during covid / newborn phases. I wear quite a bit but light formulas, and do it in 5 minutes or less these days.

WinterFoxes · 31/12/2022 14:43

Nearly always, unless I am ill. I am very pale so need mascara and a bit of lip tint otherwise I look shattered, ill and grumpy even when I feel fine.

Gunner1510 · 31/12/2022 14:59

No, I’ll do my hair and skincare routine or a face mask, and put some perfume on but I wear makeup every day I am out the house so I like to give my skin a breather! I do put it on occasionally though for round the house and it does make me feel better and more put together.

DuchessofSandwich · 31/12/2022 17:30

I feel better about myself when my hair is done, I'm wearing mascara and a dress. It makes me happy so I do that everyday, even when staying home. I never slob around in lounge clothes or PJs because that makes me unhappy.

ShakeYourFeathers · 31/12/2022 17:48

Nah I do a basic do basic face care routine

But only west make up to work and if I'm seeing friends. No point if I'm just going out to walk the dog

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/12/2022 20:00

If I am WFH yes - I am on camera and look grim without - but days of just me and DP knocking about (like some of this week) no. I do always wash/dry my hair, do skincare etc though.

Deathraystare · 03/01/2023 18:36

Sometimes! I do it for myself, nobody else! I sometimes just do a tinted moisturiser and lipstick/balm. Sometimes I have a 'play' and put the whole shebang on.

Cincinnatus · 03/01/2023 18:38

If I know I absolutely will not be going anywhere then I won’t wear it.

ofwarren · 03/01/2023 18:48

I don't wear it full stop
I actually can't remember the last time I did. Possibly around 3 years ago.

Justleaveitblankthen · 03/01/2023 18:57

Hmm, I can't remember the last time I knew for sure I wouldn't be leaving the house at all that day 🤔

If so, I wouldn't bother to put my lenses in, so would stay in my glasses all day..and Mascarra follows the lenses usually, so wouldn't bother.

It's pretty much the only thing I use day to day.

OhMonDieu · 03/01/2023 20:10

Hell, yes!

I am pale, scrappy eyelashes, purple under eyes (thin skin), and look ghostly without make up.

I wouldn't answer my front door without any on. Seriously.

It's foundation, mascara, blusher, touch of eyeliner minimum.
