I have a just below chin length bob. Lots of fine hair which is a bit flicky/kinky. I am naturally not very 'done' but would like to be a bit less scruffy.

A lot of the time I let it air dry. I am not very skilled at all at blow drying it. Sometimes I straighten it which makes it too flat.

I have a babyliss big hair which is ok but a bit of a faff. I have a hot comb thing but it was very cheap and doesn't really do much.

What I think I need is something which is a cross between straighteners and a big hair. Like a heated paddle brush which lets me take out the kinks and flicks so it looks a bit more polished.

Limited budget because I don't want to waste money on something which won't work but I do have an Amazon voucher.

Any ideas?

Absolutely the Revlon One Step. A big round brush that blows out hot air and dries and smoothes. I just got one off amazon after a thread on here!

Revlon one step. Game changer

You have been missing out!!

Sunshineandrainbow · 29/12/2022 18:43

Is the revlon different to the big hair?

Blossomandbee · 29/12/2022 18:44

There are many heated paddle brushes on the market.
GHD Glide is supposed to be good. There's lots of tutorials online too

Pootle22 · 29/12/2022 18:48

Sounds like you want a ghd glide, which is a brush with heated prongs.

I bought a dupe of the ghd glide from Boots. I love it, my hair is similar to yours and I just brush it through in a morning and it looks pretty decent.

I have a big hair. But recently bought a the one step. I think it’s loads better and you could use it like a heated paddle brush.

lugeforlife · 29/12/2022 19:08

Ah thanks all. I had a proper look after I posted and realised I'd been a lazy arse!

I think the ghd is over budget but I'll look at the one step, ta.

The Drybar double shot blow dryer brush. I'm awful at styling my hair but when I use this, you'd never know!

thepurplepenguin · 29/12/2022 19:16

The Revamp Progloss Deep Form brush is a heated straightening brush like the GHD Glide but costs about £60. It is honestly brilliant, it smoothes without making your hair flat. Wouldn't be without it!

I have fine hair and I don't get on with hot air brushes as they blow it around too much and cause static and flyaways.

I have the Big Hair. I love the finished look but it pulls and breaks my hair. Does the revlon one step do this or is it gentler?

I find the one step much better for breakage. I use it on the lower heat setting.

the reason I tried the one step was that the big hair pulled and broke my hair

RUNPMTS · 29/12/2022 20:11

Your hair sounds like mine op and honestly I didn't rate the revlon one step. It did nothing to give my hair any volume and still made it flyaway. My babyliss big hair is so much better. The revlon is just a basic hot brush with a slightly bigger barrel.

lugeforlife · 29/12/2022 20:21

Interesting @RUNPMTS. I get very tangled in the Big hair (I am quite incompetent tbh).

I am more inclined towards the ghd glide type products I think like @thepurplepenguin mentioned.
