What would you recommend to sort my face! I have a lot of pigmentation and feel that my face looks dull and dry. I don’t have large pores or spots/breakouts but I would like to have clear glossy skin. I don’t have a massive budget but was thinking of doing a Beauty Pie subscription?

Currently I use the below:
Liz Earl glow and cleanse
Liz Earl toner
Liz Earl eye bright cream
HA The Inky
Moisturizer

I got the Lizard Earl as a gift set so I’m not bothered about re purchasing once it’s gone.

Im 40

Please Help my face!

I forgot to say that I am looking at skincare only rather than make up!

Nothing wrong with your skin OP! Ok you have some pigmentation spots so if they bother you maybe try working an SPF into your daily makeup.

You could try a subscription like Skin + Me (there’s various codes around) they will give you a cream with prescription treatments for the pigmentation like tretinoin, this may also help give you a bit more glow ( although personally I don’t think your skin looks dull )

Also to add - I have tried Tret before and couldn’t get on with it so don’t want to try that again but happy to use a Retinol.

Vitamin C serum always makes my skin look quite glowy and nice. Do you use SPF at all? That's the first thing I would advise to prevent further sun damage.

If you're looking for a really simple routine I would recommend;
Vitamin C serum and SPF in the morning
A retinol at night time.

You can go the whole hog and try prescription strength retinol (called tretinoin) but it's a bit of a faff to get your skin acclimatised to it, plus it can cause irritation at first and can be difficult to get your hands on.
You could start out just using an over the counter retinol to get your skin a bit more used to it. The Ordinary do some good retinols to start with.

In terms of Vitamin C serum, I use the Geek and Gorgeous one (called C-Glow), which you can't get in shops but they sell it online. It's pretty cheap and I love it. There's plenty of brands out there that do a Vitamin C serum, but make sure it has L-ascorbic acid in the ingredients.

Try and look for ingredients that work rather than big brand names, which means you're really paying more for the packaging etc.

Sorry just saw your second message. Some people can't tolerate tretinoin, or don't like the faff of it. Loads of brands do a retinol product, just find one that you get on with and use it consistently.

I use this stuff. I'm late 40s and it's been an absolute game changer. Don't be put off by the prices as they do lots of discounts, especially if you speak to them (and no I don't work there or sell the stuff). lavielabs.com/

It's in the UK so not sure why the US and dollars has come up.

Thanks for replying. I do use an SPF but I will admit I’m not religious about it and do often forget.

I did use The Inky Vit C previously but didn’t see much improvement in the pigmentation but again, I probably didn’t use it for long enough!

Your skin looks good.

I think it depends on what type of pigmentation it is but hydroquinone might be good. You can get it via Dermatica.
