Help me sort out my really annoying hair!

Can anyone help me fight and conquer the way that my hair naturally wants to flick / curl outwards on the left?

I recently had it cut into a bob so it's really obvious, but tbh it doesn't really matter what length my hair is, it does it whatever.

I have a Babyliss Big Hair, I have a Revlon dryer brush thing. I have GHDs. I've tried drying it straight, letting it dry naturally to try and go with the natural wave. But every bloody thing I do I end up with the same issue - my hair goes under in my right and out on the left.

Is there ANYTHING I can do, right now as it is and going forward, to try any make my hair look more symmetrical??

Help me sort out my really annoying hair!

I'd flick the other side out tbh too...

Why won't it go straight with straighteners though? I think it's probably too short to do what you want it to.. I'd grow it a bit longer .

I can’t see that you will win against it ! I agree with pp, make them both the same.

Could be a bit dry at the ends. Try a hair mask for the next 3 washes and apply from the middle of the length down. I have a Frizz-Ease product that is supposed to promote curls but I use it to smooth my wavy hair into straight or at least bending inwards at the ends.

Not sure if that's the exact one but give it a go and use a round brush to blow dry it under.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/12/2022 08:10

Does it stay straight when the hairdresser straightens it?

Girlintheframe · 26/12/2022 08:23

I would wet the ends every morning. Dry using a brush and hair dryer then use straighteners to flick it under. Hairspray

KendrickLamaze · 26/12/2022 08:56

If you blow dry it from wet does it stay? My hair is similar to yours and as long as I style it wet, it's fine. Leaving it to dry naturally would be a disaster.

Thanks!

No it ends up flicking out even when I blow dry it and use the round brush, or when I use straighteners.

If a hairdresser does it it might hold for slightly longer but eventually this happens.

Drives me MENTAL!

The length doesn't make a difference apart from it being less noticeable when it's longer. One side flocks inwards, one outwards. Always.

Keep at it with the revlon. My hair is the same but with a good curl under with the revlon it can keep it the right way.

DancingSober · 26/12/2022 11:09

I have this and it is the same regardless of length. Fwiw, I think yours looks quite cute, so wouldn't worry me much.

You could put mousse into it, blow-dry in and spray it with hairspray otherwise.

I tend to just tuck mine behind my ear tbh. I also got my haircut longer one side than the other at one point and that seemed to look quite good. The flicky side was the shorter side and I just tucked it behind me ear

Snozzlemaid · 26/12/2022 11:14

Mine does exactly the same. One side stays curled under or straight but the other side flicks out, no matter what.
Like yours it will hold slightly longer if straightened by the hairdresser but flicks out the following day again.
I've given up trying to do anything now and just go with it.
