Best Hyaluronic/other serum for skin plumping… and how soon will it work?

I just caught an unexpected glimpse of my skin and it’s looking so tired. My skin is usually pretty good, but I suspect it’s a combination of being unwell recently as well as all the usual stresses at this time of year, late nights, not enough sleep or water etc.

What can I use as a quick pick me up for my skin? Will be having an early night and trying to drink gallons of water! Can anything make a difference by Christmas Day? I’ll have access to Boots, Superdrug and John Lewis tomorrow.

Thanks

Caffeine and hyaluronic acid should both work immediately, and the effects are also temporary.

Go and get a sheet mask from boots:Superdrug. It’ll be dripping in serum. Wear a good 30 mins then moisturise and then slap on Vaseline. All before bed.

you should wake up with skin looking plumper!

Thanks both! Heading to Superdrug now.

I think any hylauronic acid works - all the ones I’ve tried including Superdrug own brand are good’

Hylauronic acid is excellent but remember it has to go onto wet skin. I wash my face and literally put it on without drying it. Then after a couple of minutes put moisturiser on top

Useful tip, thanks @chumbleton

Thanks for the tip @chumbleton Do you then leave your face to air dry? I imagine the product might drip off? But curious to try it.

Any hyaluronic will add moisture. It won't work miracles by boxing Day though. The industry is now starting to think the HA on wet skin isn't necessary btw. They've found no evidence that it works better that way. Mind you, the jury is also still out on HA applied topically anyway. I do think it adds a bit of extra moisture, but a mask with other oomphy ingredients will be better for an immediate effect.
