CREW CLOTHING- A NEW SHOP IN TOWN

Sorry for the caps.

I've just seen Crew has opened in my town.

What's the verdict?

I've always thought they were rather non descript and had their roots in sailing type clothes.

Had a look at their website and it just seems pretty much like many other mid-range brands like Joules or Oliver Bonas.

I love them for basics - they use a lot of pale blue and other colours that suit me well. But no, they are no cutting edge. But they also don't cover everything in flowers like Joules.

They also have excellent sales. Which means they'll probably go out of business soon!

I didn’t know they still had real life shops. I used to buy a lot of their rugby shirts as a yachtie 20odd year old.

I wouldn’t wear a lot of it now, kids’ stuff is good quality.

Their Jeans are really good for my body shape (boyshish, androgynous).

Just find their ladies clothes a bit masculine or military

Is this like the parking thread recently where everyone realised they were from that same place on the Cambridge train line?

I was a bit disappointed to see it replace Claire's. Loved a bit of cheap plastic glitter, have to go into London for it now.

The women's clothes are quite dull and in horrible pastel colours or weird nautical designs, but their men's clothes are good quality. I have stolen DH's pure wool jumpers.

Checkedtowel · 21/12/2022 21:18

I like them for good quality plain tshirts. I think the men's stuff is nice, or at least it's good quality and DH looked better in it than M&S etc which would be the alternative.

Ha! I was trying to find some crazy Christmas earrings recently and stood on that row of shops wondering where Claire's had gone. For some reason I couldn't compute that Crews had replaced it.

Didn't find any in the end.

My DH has had a lot of crew stuff over the years. The more recent stuff hasn't washed nearly as well. A lot of it recommends washing in a 30 degree delicate wash. This isn't really practical for our house where we seem to produce so much washing

I’ve got a blue flowery shirt and a navy cotton shirt from there and both are great quality. That is starting to be a thing of the past I think. Pricey items but I got mine from Brandalley. I agree they have a certain look to their stuff.
