Dermatica alternative

I've been using their subscription service for a couple of months now but their use of Royal Mail for delivery makes it completely unworkable. Deliveries at the moment are taking 3/4/5 weeks, even tracked items, so it's impossible to actually get hold of the cream and use it consistently, so I'm wasting my money.

I've checked with skin and me, and they also use RM, so they're also out. Any alternative suggestions on companies I can use, please? Thanks.

Franked/business post is getting prioritised here so my Dermatica deliveries have been getting through.

What do you have in your prescription?

Niacinamide is available on the high street, eg The Ordinary, think Superdrug even do one.

Azelaic Acid is available from online pharmacies at 20% (Skinoren) though might have same RM issue. The Ordinary do a 15% one.

Tretinoin can be bought abroad (either when on holiday or again online).

You can get clindamycin in acne creams again from online pharmacies but I’ve not been convinced by their effectiveness.

I don’t have rosacea so have never looked for Ivermectin.

Hi, thanks so much for replying. My first cream was Tretinoin 0.025% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4% and the tret strength is going up, should have revived it 2/3 Dec but nothing.

You could try buying tretinoin from Farmacia Andorra, I get mine from there. They sell a Spanish brand called Retirides, and it comes in three strengths - 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1%.
I usually buy three or four tubes at a time, they cost €20 each and each one lasts me about 3 months , but I have worked up to using it almost every night.
The shipping is about €20 though so that might put you off.

I get niacinamide from The Ordinary.

Thanks! No that's helpful because Dermatica is £25 a month anyway. I'll look into that and look for the other ingredients separately as you've both suggested

That's odd, my Dermatica prescriptions have been arriving as usual!

fatsocatso · 17/12/2022 13:58

@MaggieMagpie357 it's not Dermatica that are the problem, it's Royal Mail. As well as strikes, our local postie walked off the job a few months ago, so my area (few streets) is dramatically affected by the combination of both problems.

@fatsocatso I realise that. I was just wondering why mine are being delivered fine and yours are delayed. But it sounds like RM have severe issues in your area.

Cotswoldmama · 17/12/2022 14:14

I use skin+me and I haven't had any of mine come late and they're with royal mail. Does dermalogica let you move your delivery date forward so you can request it early and hopefully get it earlier or nearer to the time you are supposed to? I usually have more than a months supply in my doser so end up moving the delivery to a later dated but it always comes on time.

Heres the link for skin and me if you want to try them 1st and 5th month free just £3.50 p&p
