How long until ear piercing fully heals

My dd (14) had her ears pieced with a needle. Left the jewellery in for 2 months, sprayed with saline etc. properly looked after.

that was 6 months ago and since then, each of her ears has had a flare up where it gets red and angry - solved by several more days of saline/cleaning - but the question is when will the piercings look like completely closed skin and never get like this again? Thanks for any help.

My daughter's lobe piercing healed almost instantly and it was in a filthy Claires we got it done, it was gold we went for though and the super expensive healing in 3 week lotion.

I got my cartilage done in a professional piercing studio with a needle. I gave up on it and took it out after a year as it was constantly filled with pus, aching and disgusting. A bit sad to have lost it but I couldn't live with it not healing after a year.

My dd still has problems over a year later.

we’ve done everything right, pierced with needles, correct cleaning etc

this morning they have flared up again and one is red angry and sore I’ve swapped her back to medical grade plastic earrings as I suspect she has an allergy to a metal.

the doctor prescribed fucidin cream but looking at it I suspect she will need antibiotics

I had my tragus done at the same time and mine healed in around 3 months

Mine took a couple of years before they settled enough not to be irritated by certain metals etc.

What are her current studs made of? If not gold then I'd invest in some small gold ones and then leave them in. I'm sure she's desperate to wear more exciting earrings, but cheap fashion jewellery in cheap metals and that are heavier than studs will only irritate them more. Studs in, no twisting, no fiddling, no soaking, they just need a gentle clean in the shower as part of a regular hygiene routine. Leave them several weeks longer than you think they need after they've completely settled down before changing them.

I had my lobes pierced 5 months ago and they're not fully healed, I haven't attempted to change the earrings yet, in fact I think I'll just leave them in as I'm too scared to attempt it!

Ha ha, I also had my lobes pierced five months ago and also too scared to change them 🤣 I think they are probably healed, but I'm just scared of taking them out in case I can't get any back in!

(I had them pierced twice as a teenager but they didn't settle... Also had my helix pierced, which was fine, but only changed that for the first time earlier this year after 17 years 😯 and only because I had to for an MRI 🤣 Hopefully won't leave my lobes that long...)

Also had my tragus pierced in October, going to get the piercer to change that one when it's ready 😁

Also, titanium is supposed to be the best metal for sensitive ears.

I had second piercings done with a needle and they took about 2 years to heal. First ones I had aged about 12 at a jewellers and the earring went in my ear so they healed and I had them done at Claire's as an adult. Took about six months to heal. DD had hers done at Superdrug in July. We tried removing and one started bleeding so they have gone back in.
