I cannot be stylish in the cold.

I know it's possible, I've seen it - spotted a very chic looking woman on the way to school just this morning, although if I'd been her I'd have buttoned my coat up - I just can't do it. I have plenty of nice "winter" clothes, but I'm too bloody cold to wear anything other than multiple layers of my warmest things.

I've had the same - huge, woolly, very unglamorous but very warm jumper on since Sunday. I've worn clean thermal layers under it every day, so it doesn't smell, at least. When I go out I add wellies, my long Barbor coat and a wolly hat. I look like an overgrown Womble.

Anyone else? I'm looking for solidarity rather than advice, as I no intention of attempting style until the temperature is at least in double figures!

It was -8.5 here this morning, ‘stylish’ was not on my list either OP.

I live for the summer. I don't know how people look so good in winter! I never seem to manage it. I'm quite slim with massive boobs which just makes it harder. I'm starting to believe it's impossible to find a coat that I can do up and that doesn't absolutely drown the rest of me.

Solidarity from me too OP. I am living in my wearable blanket, thermal leggings, furry snood and fingerless gloves. I've just ordered a giant parka that was in a clearance sale. Whenever I go to my bedroom I look longingly at all my lovely winter clothing that just isn't warm enough to cope with this temperature combined with the cost of energy which means we barely have any heat on (it's 12 degrees in the lounge, 8 in the kitchen arghhhh)

I've been wearing a big puffer coat that goes down to my ankles, knee-high boots, thermal long-sleeved t-shirts, a fleece, a snood, a hat, and gloves. Yes I have a beautiful wool and cashmere camel coat. It's nowhere as warm as my puffer coat. So whether I'm walking from the car park to the shops, or walking my dog, I'm opting for the Michelin-man look!
