Hydrating moisturiser for sensitive skin

MeOnSea · 12/12/2022 15:38

I can’t seem to find my beloved Eucerin Aquaporin Active moisturiser any more from retailer that I know/trust. I’m wondering if it has been discontinued.

If so, im looking for a good hydrating moisturiser for sensitive skin, that doesn’t block pores and can be worn under makeup. My skin doesn’t seem to cope with v much silicone, or perfume and is prone to redness (possible mild rosacea?)

I used to use Avene which was ok but seemed to get on better with the Eucerin.

Id love to know your trusted suggestions, thank you

I think La Roche-Posay Toleriane range is excellent. Normally get it in boots

Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer.

It’s expensive but so good I use it as my winter moisturiser.

I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, which can feel dry without moisturiser.

I can tell you what I have been using for years, which does not cause spots and is really moisturising - but it is expensive and you may not want to spend that much for a cream.

The brand is epionce. They do a renewal facial cream, or if you need something a bit thicker for dryness, the intensive nourishing cream - I use the latter in the wintertime. However, the intensive cream can make you look a bit shiny when first applied, which I don't mind, but others may not.

I get mine from www.beauty-product-online.co.uk/shop/epionce. Its sold by a beauty parlour where I also get ipl treatment for my rosacea - hence why I buy from there.

I just looked, and it seems to be out of stock at the moment. Probably because they just had a black Friday deal recently and were giving 20% off. I bought 2 of the intensive cream, saving £40.

Thanks all. Hadn’t heard of Epionce before, not sure I can justify the cost right now. Glad you have something that works for you cjh1969.

Had forgotten about La Roche Posay and Kiehls. Will take a look…thank you

CeraVe

dontgobaconmyheart · 12/12/2022 23:44

I've not tried the Aquaporin but in the winter I use the Eucerin 5% urea face cream and love it, always go back to it.

Kiehls Ultra facial cream I also like but don't find moisturising enough over the winter.

NightOwlNotEarlyBird · 13/12/2022 14:52

Second cerave!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 13/12/2022 18:43

3rd vote for Cerave

CoffeandTiaMaria · 13/12/2022 18:44

Clinique Moisture Surge, there’s simply nothing better imo.

Parker231 · 13/12/2022 18:47

Cerave - wish I’d discovered it years ago

MeOnSea · 13/12/2022 19:03

Ooh, extra recommendations thanks all. Have tried the moisture surge but I ended up with some bumps on my cheeks, think it was a bit silicone-y for me too.

Cerave users, which particular moisturiser are you using? I’ve been using the eye cream with no ill effects so it has potential!

Another vote here for cerave!

CeraVe Moisturising Cream for Dry to Very Dry Skin 454g with Hyaluronic Acid & 3 Essential Ceramides amzn.eu/d/ivL5RT5 this is the one I use

uncomfortablydumb53 · 14/12/2022 14:03

I use the Cerave cream linked above too
I'm 57 now and have wasted so much money looking for " The one"
So glad I've found it!
I also find a tiny smear of Sudocrem underneath the Cerave helpful if my skin is sore

panko · 14/12/2022 14:05

Vichy

medianewbie · 14/12/2022 14:33

Aveeno. Made from oats.

fruitpastille · 14/12/2022 14:38

I use cerave but much prefer the pm version than am. My skin is similar to what you describe. It's often on offer in superdrug.

fruitpastille · 14/12/2022 14:41

Mine is the facial lotion rather than cream.

TerraNostra · 14/12/2022 14:43

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream is my go-to.

hamsterchump · 14/12/2022 14:46

I find the classic blue Nivea Creme really moisturising and soothing.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 14/12/2022 14:46

Dr Jart, either ceramide or the cica-type moisturiser.

kjv1234 · 14/12/2022 14:49

Another vote for Cerave - been a game changer for me.

MeOnSea · 14/12/2022 17:54

Wow, thanks all, some really helpful suggestions for me to try out. Was feeling so disappointed after finding something that worked so well for me.

I have hope! 😁
