Hi,
I'd like a ski jacket and some salopettes. I'm an M&S size 14 top, 16 bottoms.
My preference would be for the ski jacket to resemble ready-to-wear, as opposed to technical sports clothing. In addition to occasional skiing, the jacket would more regularly be used as a winter coat to wear to the office for work, evenings to the theatre, drinks with friends etc
I've been into Snow + Rock, Ellis Bringham and Decathlon. Nothing fits.
I really like the style/ designs of the Sweaty Betty ski jackets. These jackets fit my brief perfectly, and the size Large fit me well and the ski jackets are flattering. In particular, the SB Alpine would be ideal, but unfortunately it's not warm at all.
I'm looking for clothes which are 100% synthetic, no fur, no down, recycled or otherwise. This is why I've had to rule-out the other Sweaty Betty designs. They look great, but other than the Alpine, they all contain down.
Are there any other High Street retailers selling good looking, reasonabley priced, synthetic ski wear, that I can walk into and buy something from today (Monday 12th December, 2022)? Any shops within the m25, Central or North London preferably.
More info...
So far a Poivre Blanc, Size 20 jacket, fits, sadly, the matching salopettes don't fit. PB is a super expensive brand, and I feel that at £400 I should love the jacket.
I can see that Mountain Warehouse offer a plus size range online. I haven't visited MW yet, however, the styles online aren't typically the styles/ designs I'd wear for my every day winter wear. And again, like the PB I'm wary of dropping a few hundred pounds on something I don't particularly like or love.
The skater/snow boarder look doesn't fit with my every day sense of style, although I appreciate that the relaxed fit of those ski outfits could possibly work for my size... I'll probably go with some North Face or similar salopettes.
I'll be wearing many layers, but I would like the jacket to have some synthetic insulating properties as well. I like the Goldbergh cropped puffa jackets, but have been warned that they're no good for actual skiing or sledging, no specific details given.
Any and all suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated!
