British Jewellery?

SayCheez · 06/12/2022 13:57

Hi,

I'm looking to buy some jewellery for Christmas, but want to try and buy british rather than lots of the stuff on the high street is made in India or China. Lots of the stuff on Etsy seems to be mass produced these days too or, to be brutally honest like something from a craft stall.

Are there any good british brands these days?

I would love a piece from Dan Musselwhite who was on the first series of All That Gliiters. Beautiful stuff.

Thanks all. Will take a good look through the rest of these tonight.

My first impression is that many of them look a little too 'machined', if that makes sense.

Any suggestions for any that are more nature inspired and less mainstream? Thanks.

Alex Monroe does some lovely nature inspired pieces, handmade in England.

I have the bee necklace and a few others, they're lovely.

For something a bit different, have a look at Helen Noakes. She makes everything by hand in her studio in Salisbury. She's really lovely and her work is quite distinct.

Anything from Element Isle. Lots of nature inspired jewellery and other organic pieces.

Ruby & Wonder is handmade in the UK.

Is it just me, or is that name really off-putting.

TheIsaacs · 07/12/2022 12:16

Caroline Richrdson makes beautiful silver jewellery, I love her crinoid stars.

SayCheez · 07/12/2022 18:11

Kate Trouw: www.katetrouw.com/

Jellycats4life · 07/12/2022 18:53

I’m glad someone mentioned Stephen Einhorn because that was my first thought. Pricey but substantial and unusual pieces.

Vinylloving · 07/12/2022 18:54

I like Lines and Current

RedLeopardSilk · 07/12/2022 18:55

See someone has already flagged Alison Moore, which is echo. Another option is Zoe Davidson (also Orkney).

RedLeopardSilk · 07/12/2022 18:55

I'd echo doh
