Are curvier bottoms more comfy to sit on?

Hello hello,
Sorry if this seems like a silly question .
I ask this becuase this is a surprisingly common complaint I hear from other women after they've lost a bit of weight. They complain that losing the fat in their bottoms makes them much more susceptible to aches and numbness when they sit on hard surfaces or seats.
Does having more padding and fat in your bottom make it more comfy to sit on?

Wow.

How odd that all of your 3 posts on Mumsnet involve talking about ladies bottoms ickysticky.

Would it be rude of me to suspect you are, in fact, the proverbial hairy handed trucker?

My bottom is uncomfortable on my dp ooh it is so bony. sigh, what shall I do.
I know I'll have that extra slice of cheesecake.

When I was skinny (well - not skinny but a lot thinner than I am now) and I rode my horse for any length of time I would get sore areas where my seat bones ground against the saddle.

Now I'm a lardy arse I can ride all day no problem - it's the horse that suffers!

I am not qualified to comment having had generous padding in that region my entire life!

Ah, surely the trick is to exercise more, then you'll have a muscular bottom, and given that muscles are firmer they'll protect your bony arse more...

(I should qualify that I am of the bony arse brigade - not fun when you're sat on a thinly padded exercise bike seat)

Oh yes, when I lost a lot of weight during breastfeeding I used to get bruises on my bottom if I spent too long in the bath - it used to really hurt.

Now I've got a bit of padding back I can have long baths again.
