Turner Prize Dinner. Fancy place and food, full of London arty types, but in Liverpool. Not black tie. No idea what to wear. Remote chance of being caught on telly.

Size 18, 50, bewbs and arse. Prefer to look stylish than pretty. Not sure if i would be more horrified to be over or underdressed.

ANY ideas, before I decide its too stressful and back out.

I think the dress is too mumsy. I’ve looked at at Red magazine for ideas. So gold/bronze platforms are bang on trend this Christmas. If you cannot manage them, Pretty Ballerinas have bow flats. Mango have inexpensive party shoes and good evening wear. Lots of metallics and gold thread in clothes. Gold, silver but mix with black if you don’t want to be in the spotlight. Eg Rixo metallic bronze blouse would be brilliant with black palazzo pants. Ted Baker has a glitzy trouser suit. Coast has amazing black fringed evening trousers. Reserved has a black organza blouse. Team with brocade trousers. H&M has silver jean style trousers. Would be amazing with the organza top. Carry a glitzy bag and have statement earrings. Good hairdo and makeup.

Metallics might be easier to pull off than jewel colours this winter.

Careful with wool and velvet. I tried on a beautiful velvet Ghost dress the other day. Looked exactly right but I was melting in it just walking out of the changing room. I imagined being at a crowded party and sweating like a lumberjack.
