So I went party dress shopping today…

What a disappointment. The shops are terrible, an all time low. Nasty-assed cheap fabrics and everywhere resembles a jumble sale. Oliver Bonas gets a particular mention for stocking H&M quality clothing at Oliver Bonas prices. I actually laughed out loud in there…wtf are they on?

This year’s theme? Jane McDonald and Pat Butcher.

Is it just me or is nothing worth parting with cash for?

FatFace has a 92% polyester 8% elastase dress that is just a baggy, unlined T-shirt for £65!!!

Agree re Oliver Bonas, they sell their v ordinary stuff for £££.
Have you tried Mango? - their dresses are nice.
Asos , v easy to return if you don't like it.

I managed to get the silver sequin skirt on the M&S website that I'm wearing with a cashmere roll neck to literally every event throughout Dec to NYE.

I bought an age 14 to 15 yearsdress from m&s ....its lovely....worn it once already....Next outing for it is next week for office party!......next and m ands sell childrens clothes upto 16years....no vat and I usually find something I like ( and I'm 57 😁)

Yeah I couldn’t find any nice dresses last week. I’ve bought some lovely sparkly (well cut and nice material) trousers from
Me&Em. They were expensive so I’ll wear them to everything in Dec with some silky cami tops and switch for a cashmere/fine knit jumper for more casual events.
Quite relieved I’ve taken a dress off the table as there really was nothing out there.

@Vitriolinsanity is it the Albaray one? It's lovely! I bought a v cheap Vinted one which I was fine with til I saw that one 😁
