I will be MoG next summer, and need to seriously up my makeup game. I've been looking at make up tutorials on youtube but am finding a bit overwhelming.
I need recommendations of who is good to follow on youtube for foolproof make up tutorials for mature MoG (I'm in my 50s).....have been looking at Lisa Eldridge vids, but who else is good?
Also to note I will be on a bit of a budget re new make up and products so don't want to be using anything high end, but need recommendations for eye make up that is cry proof - I will no doubt blub at points on the day. So maybe mascara, eye liner (not sure about this) and eye shadow?? I've seen a lovely look demonstrated by Lisa Eldridge that uses some eye shadow below the outer eye, but doesn't that smudge badly, especially with tears?
And does the make up need to be a bit exaggerated, to look good in photos? Anything that I should avoid using that would look bad in photos - I think some highlighters show up badly in pics?
My make up is normally very minimal and I'm a bit of a natural scruff, but I really want to look the part and not let my son and wife to be down by looking a mess.
I think I will be ok with my normal foundation, but will need everything else - bronzer/blush, lippy, eye make up, eyebrows
Thanks in advance for any help

I'd book yourself in with MUA for the day and save your self a hassle. They do this day in day out.

I had a MUA for my hen do as a practice run, overseas wedding and wedding party at home.

I'd recommend. Practice run next time you have function.

I just looked heathy fresh and radiant and not made up. I went for a classic natural bride look and this is key that will do a "timeless" look. (I say "timeless" as I don't really believe there is such a thing but avoiding trends such as huge amounts of highlighter and slug brows)

If you don't want to go done that route try and get used to doing your make up daily. I use a very few product, just a foundation, brow pencil, eyeliner, mascara, blusher and lip balm. You probably want to add a lipstick and another either bronzer or highlight maybe an eyeshadow. You might not want an eyeliner. I also use the Aldi dupe of the Laura mercier powder which is really good. (You can't get the Aldi one anymore).

I think Lisa Eldridge is the best for these tutorial and Bobbi brown.

Thank you, I'll look in to that. I've never had a 'brand' makeover, I've always been concerned that they would just want to push their products.

Yes I don't mean a brand make over I mean an independent make up artist who uses a range of brands.

Going to a counter the will just flog you stuff- I don't mean that.

My local beauty salon does make up and there are a number of MUA who will travel to you.

Look for someone who does bridal and they'll do the right look. It's not unusual for a wedding part you have a bridal make up team.

If it's a destination wedding ask the hotel who they recommend or ask on here where you are based to get reccos

My wedding make-up was great she used airbrush foundation and applied a few false lashes.

Edit It's not unusual for a wedding part to have a make up artist or a team so ask your future DIL.
