Does anyone have a Shark hairdryer?

I have a Parlux which I've had for years but I have curly hair and the diffuser is only ok. My hairdresser uses a Dyson and my hair looks amazing afterwards but that may be down to her skills rather than the hairdryer!

Not sure I can justify over £300 on a Dyson Supersonic but I noticed Shark have one out that looks very similar and is only £179.

I have a small Shark cordless hoover that's brilliant but would like to know if their hairdryer is just as good! Has anyone got one and if so, how does it compare to a Dyson or Parlux?

I don’t own or have ever used the shark. I have recently purchased the Dyson. Stupid expensive but my God I bloody love it. Dries my hair super fast and the new smoothing attachment is some kind of wizardry.

I've had my Parlux since 2012 and it's still going strong. Not sure what the life of the Dyson or Shark is but I'd be annoyed if it gave up the ghost after just a few years! There's loads of Amazon cheapie versions of them but you never know with those.

Shark is good and dries really quickly but I prefer the dyson - treated myself to an air wrap from the eBay outlet and it’s not much more expensive than the shark drier, leaves my hair smoother and has more options for styling

What does 'certified refurbished' mean? Are they previously used?

KillingMeDeftly · 19/11/2022 12:26

Oh I didn't know there was a Dyson outlet! Off to take a look now.

@loveisagirlnameddaisy Yes, I think so. @Makkni88 I assume your Airwrap was in good condition?

I have a smoothing attachment but don't know how to use it well - it doesn't seem to do anything for me! What do you do to create this wizardry?

I instead use a babyliss big hair, but I never get it smooth near the roots as it's too big, and I also tangle my hair a lot with that (I have an awful lot of hair).

It’s returned items but mine is perfect and came packaged like new

KillingMeDeftly · 22/11/2022 18:01

My Dyson arrived today and like @Makkni88 said, it was packaged like new, right down to being shrink wrapped! A bargain at £188. Well not quite a bargain as that's still a lot for a hairdryer but you know what I mean!

I have this exact question and wondering if there is any update or any more thoughts from anyone regarding:
Dyson v shark when one is used to a Parlux

KillingMeDeftly · 23/03/2023 19:28

I've been using the Dyson for a few months now and it's definitely better than the Parlux. I have curly hair and the curls look so much better than before.

Though I kind of wish I'd waited as Shark have since released their multi-styler, which also incorporates a hairdryer.
