Can I fix my hair without spending a fortune?

Disclaimer: I cannot afford to go to a hairdresser to get this fixed. It would cost a fortune that I just don't have, sadly.

I have (normally) bum length blonde hair but occasionally I get bored and put a fun semi permanent colour in it which washes out fairly quickly.

Years ago I used to dye my hair red but gave it up as the constant use of permanent dye and maintenance of the colour was too much and wrecked the quality of my hair. Eventually I had to chop it off to shoulder length and the condition much improved, I haven't put any permanent colour in it since.

For some reason I decided I wanted to go red again but just temporarily so I put in a semi permanent in a gingery copper colour, which was nice to start with but it's been almost 3 months now and it just won't wash out 😭😭

It's faded a lot, so much so that there are patches of blonde peaking through but the rest is just a weird peachy/pinky/orange colour which is much stronger closer to the roots and of course I have some fairly significant root showing which is my natural colour.

Bit of a confusing picture but essentially I have odd Tri-coloured hair which looks absolutely awful and I feel so ugly at the moment. My hair is my one nice feature and I'm so scared I've ruined it again after years getting it back long and in nice condition!

So it seems my options are:

Do nothing for years the foreseeable future until it finally washes/grows out on its own and just accept I'll look ridiculous until then

Put a permanent colour/bleach on it and risk ruining the condition again

Use a colour remover and then put a semi permanent blonde over it to even it out which may also wreck the condition

Just put a semi permanent blonde over it as it is and see what happens (which will likely do nothing?)

I've tried using various methods to help speed up the colour washing out process (vit c tablets, etc) but nothing has really helped and I'm worried it's also making my hair condition worse.

Is there anything I can try to make it better? Or am I just have to accept some level of damage to get it to look half decent again?

Please help, I hate seeing myself in the mirror at the moment and just want to cry at the state of it 😭

If you haven’t tried it yet, I’d recommend trying Fanola shampoo & mask - they have a “no orange” set which could do the job/dramatically improve. I use their no yellow on my blonde and it really cleans the colour.
