I'm asking for super warm wfh slippers
I thought that i definitely wanted the shepherd of Sweden Bella boots www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374177605604?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=PF_55bvqQD2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=CL-cd_clSWC&var=643076507785&widget_ver=artemis&media=Copy

But then I saw these alpaca ones and I'm torn

Any thoughts?
Not being worn outside

I came here to say sheepskin as that's what I have, but... the alpaca ones are so floofy and extravagant looking! I think I want a pair.

FayCarew · 17/11/2022 19:38

Get both. You know you want to.

GettingStuffed · 17/11/2022 20:06

I just lmfao at those alpaca ones. I'd get them dirty in less than 5 minutes

Rollerbird · 18/11/2022 07:38

It's a Christmas gift I'm going to receive!
Do you think the alpaca will be as warm as the sheepskin?
I'm basically just going to be sitting down and mooching to the loo or kettle with them on.
I do love both of them and think the sheepskin will probably last longer

Alpaca wool is warmer and softer than sheep's wool. My reservation is that they seem rather cheap for a luxury material. I would question whether they are genuine and why they are fluffy on the outside. I had an alpaca wool jumper once and it was amazing.

Rollerbird · 18/11/2022 07:50

That's a really good point! I'm going to message and ask if they are wooly or suede on the inside...

The alpaca ones have hardly any photos and don't show you the sole. I definitely think the first slippers, with the firm sole, will be a lot safer to wear, especially if you have stairs. You would not believe how many people come into A&E after falling over in daft slippers.

Letsrunabath · 18/11/2022 07:54

I agree that the Alpaca ones seem very cheap for a luxury product.
my husband has the sheepskin mens ones and loves them, the only problem being he can not go anywhere without them. Even takes them on holiday.

SheWoreYellow · 18/11/2022 07:55

I got alpaca slippers from a market in Peru - they are literally just skin though, no padded sole. I think you need to check they aren’t like that.

Rollerbird · 18/11/2022 09:43

I messaged them. They said the alpaca have sheepskin on the inside and a suede sole. But I'm going with the sheepskin boots!

As its a slipper one can I jump on - has anyone got the Loaf Snuggins slippers?
They keep coming up on my Facebook feed. Again not cheap, but if they are durable then worth it?

MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat · 18/11/2022 14:42

I prefer the sheepskin ones. I got a pair years ago from next. Apart from having a mark on the top near the toe part they are still in perfect condition. The sole is thick and chunky and suitable for outdoors as well, and they are so bloody comfortable

Haffiana · 18/11/2022 16:31

I wouldn't buy any product that claims that their alpacas 'died naturally'. That is either a complete lie or it is a complete lie.

Imagine going out to the natural alpaca fields to gather the dead alpacas - that is, the ones that haven't rotted or been eaten by animals, carrion birds or insects...
