Make up product to make me look fresh but not shiny?

In recent weeks my face seems to look really dull with my usual make up on - a combination of feeling exhausted and the weather probably...

What can I use that gives me a bit of a healthy glow without making my combination skin too shiny? Some sort of a highlighter maybe?

I'm currently using foundation, matte powder (needed or my t-zone is shiny before lunch time), blusher (usually a peachy shade), a neutral shade of eyeshadow and mascara for eyes, eyebrow pencil to add definition and lipstick (have experimented with different shades from bright red to nude and shades of brown recently, doesn't help with the general look though).

Mid-range budget, currently using everything from Rimmel to MAC.

I find the glossier cream blush in the tube makes my skin look glowy and youthful

Use satin eyeshadow or one with micro shimmer. I find matte eyeshadow looks so dull and against popular opinion, aging.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. It was reformulated recently and I was persuaded to try it. It gives me a glow even though I'm knackered.

I have oily skin and find that using a face powder that has a little glow to it helps, and I also use a powder highlighter.

I recommend the Nars Light Reflecting setting powder, which still has very good oil controlling properties.

For highlighters, I am a light-medium skintone and really like the Bobbi Brown highlighting powder in Pink Glow. I use some along the tops of the cheekbones, inner corner of the eye, and a little along the browbone and bridge of the nose.

I would definitely review your skincare as well, you may find a chemical exfoliant really helps with dullness (eg something with glycolic acid). Paulas Choice do some excellent ones, I also quite like Kate Somerville Exfolikate.

I second this!

Charlotte Tilbury have lovely make up that makes you look glowy, they usually have a concession in large department stores where the staff will help you find suitable products, they'll put some on your face, you don't need an appointment.
It's all a little expensive like £36 for a foundation but it lasts ages.
I'm mid 50s so just wanted my skin to look brighter and it works without making me look like mutton dressed as lamb 😀

Laura Mercier Oil-free Tinted Moisturiser. Give you glow without being shiny.

I use origins vitazing tinted moisturiser and a touch of CT Hollywood glow on cheekbones if I need a lift.
And a brightening concealer under my eyes and in the inner corners.
