Hydrating foundation to cope with sandpaper skin from starting tret

I've just upped by tret from skin and me to every day but I'm still buffering, but think as well as the odd spot purging I will have rough/flaky skin as I have every other time I've tried. Problem is if I put creams that are too oily on I just get spots, my skin is dehydrated normally not dry.

What's a good foundation that's hydrating but still has decent, medium coverage? And any suggestions of creams that are hydrating but not oily to soothe my skin?

Thanks

Estée Lauder futurist is great, I use tret and it's really hydrating

I've not got it to hand but the palest! (I'm a lot paler than I look in that photo) I think it's porcelain

I have started using Tret some months ago and my skin is still quite dry but I find Boot's No7 Hydraluminous Foundation really good - it looks natural and is moisturising.
In terms of moisturising creams, I picked up Prai's Menoglow Hydrating Sleep Cream in M&S on a whim and really like the cooling, moisturising texture and now also use it sometimes during the day when I need a pick up. It's light and a bit gloopy but I find it very soothing.

I would still experiment with finding a moisturiser that suits your skin better. Mine's super dry and dehydrated and I also have breakouts but none of my face creams or serums leave it feeling oily if I slather them on, they sink in and fix the issue.

I had to stop Tretinoin as it all became unbearably dry and so sore, even with buffering, very low doses and alternating and didn't get any better after several months, which was a bit gutting but in a way it was a relief to stop because my face just looked awful with makeup on and very little helped because my face was so oversensitive so most creams or masks I'd usually rely on to put moisture back in were just causing discomfort.

Foundation wise my current go- to is the NYX Born To Glow, which is surprisingly good for around £10, I like adding a drop of the Simple Hydration Booster to it (also a few pounds). In fact I add it to most things, it makes every foundation I have so much more blendable ( I use a damp beauty blender). Otherwise The Ordinary Serum foundation, Loreal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation (which I've read is a dupe of the EL Futurist, no idea if true).

More medium/ high end I like the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint, or Armani Luminous Silk, Lancome Teint Idole (on less dry days and if I'm going out as it has more staying power).
