Real shops, South/West

I used to love shopping in person.
I could pick things up, quickly judge if it would fit and suit me, what size and if the material was suitable, try on if needed. I used to maintain a decent wardrobe no problem.

Online frustrates the hell out of me, I need to send most things back, or don't even order now if not sure, I'm not managing to buy much at all. I wish there was somewhere you could go and see all the stuff from the catalogues.

I really need a lot of new clothes now, particularly for work but also casual.

My small town is basically reduced to Next and M&S, neither of which fit me well, too boxy. As per username I'm more of a Dorothy Perkins fit, long pear shape.

Is it worth a trip to Cardiff, Bristol or even London, or anywhere else in the region, is there a good range of clothes shops I can shop in or is everywhere in the same sad state?

Bristol is alright. Cardiff has a nicer vibe. Bath is best.

I relate to this and I’m in London! Even when you go to the shops often the stock levels are low or something you’ve seen online isn’t in the shop (even when the stock checker says it is). I tend to order things in ahead of my trip, then return on the spot if they’re not right so at least I know there is some point to going.

There is no substitute for holding something up in person, colour fabric, sizing. I’ve seen things in IRL and had real trouble finding them online as I didn’t recognise them.

In London I think the Westfield shopping centres have the best range of shops overall.

Thanks @ThunderMoo , Bath's a good shout.

Thanks @TheOGCCL , glad it's not just me. I wouldn't have a clue where to start in London other than Oxford St so thanks for the tip.
