I’m 47 and had long hair all my life, over the last year it’s been thinning out falling out really bad I can’t even have hair extensions if it’s falling out, I’m so worried about it, I’m not going through the menopause, I’m taking biotin and vitamins…..anyone got any advice?

@warofthemonstertrucks have you got the name or a link for the hair oil please?

warofthemonstertrucks · 03/11/2022 16:28

It was this. I have noticed a fair bit of new hair growth since using it and it's also banished a lot of frizz so I'm happy with it in that front as well

Thank you :)

Mine is menopause related I think but I found out by chance (ran out of shampoo so used DD's) that Child's Farm strawberry and mint shampoo more or less stops mine falling out. No idea why but as soon as I stop using it my hair falls out in handfuls so it's clearly doing something. I would actually love someone else to try it out and report back so I know whether it's just a weird fluke and only works for me!

Mine went thin with menopause and then COVID earlier this year. I use pantene root awakener. I can see lots of small hairs. Boots/superdrug often have it on offer at £4.99 (normally 9.99) so not too expensive.

At 47 it will be the menopause or peri- menopause - not everyone gets symptoms.
Buy Regaine off Amazon Smile and Amazon will donate to your favourite charity).

Same here. It’s age. I’m on HRT and it’s thinned out hugely.

I’ll certainly try it next time I run out of shampoo!!

My dermatologist Dr Natalia posts a lot about hair loss

Have you considered Minoxil ?? VERY highly rated

Things like rosemary oil also help !

PRP is another option but expensive

What’s PRP?**

stevalnamechanger · 03/11/2022 16:59

PRP - platelet rich plasma , my derm isn't a fan I don't think but many are

I'd personally try minoxil
