Hair styling

I am growing my hair longer. It’s mid way between my ears and neck line at the moment. I’ve never had longer hair before so I need some styling tips please.

I have tried hair mousse to give it some shape and volume when I am drying it. Too much and my hair becomes sticky and won’t style, too little and it looks ok when done but quickly falls flat and then goes soft and wispy and falls in my face. I tried holding it with Ellnette hairspray this morning but that’s all but disappeared. Can anyone offer me any tips or good products to use that will hold my hair in place?

If I understood everything correctly, you want to give your hair more volume. In this case:
Don't use hot tools too often not to damage your hair.
Avoid products that are too heavy for your hair.
Stay away from over-washing your hair cause you can strip away its natural oils, leading to dryness and frizz.

What is your hair like? Fine and thin, or more wiry and thicker? Or fine but lots of it? Straight or wavy? Tends to get greasy, or tends to be dry?

It sounds like you may have fine thin fairly straight hair (like me) - if so it is very difficult to make it do anything except fall straight down. Best results are probably with some sort of beach hair product (but not too much) and then a wave from a hot wand, but even then it doesn’t last.

Yeah, I heard about that in this article beautysecretkeeper.com/how-to-give-your-hair-volume/

I would bet that the problem is your shampoo and conditioner. What are you using?

I have fine hair and i do a rough blow dry upside down with a blow dry creme on the ends to about half way up, then I section and use a round hot brush.
