Can you tell me if this is warm enough for Winter? It’s a lovely cost. Just doesn’t seem much to it. I live in Scotland so wanted something wind and waterproof which this one is bit is it warm?

I did get the black one actually and jazz it up with brightly coloured scarves, gloves etc. My thinking was that it’s never going to be a fashion item and black goes with my black waterproof “ seasalt day” boots!
Im a bit ridiculous about clashing colours, I can’t do black and navy anything together, so if it’s a seasalt day and I’m in navy stuff I get out the Northface navy coat - I know that’s really sad…..

I love mine, but have to admit on a cold dry day, I prefer my Berghaus puffa coat. For football matches, I've been known to wear them both!

Similar-ish style, but more warm and more waterproof, look at Didrickson's.Erika. Full price it's £250, but you can usually find old colours, odd sizes etc cheaper by googling.

Forgot to mention, I wore my Janelle in Antartica, with normal winter wear underneath and I was warm and cosy! 🙂

Had mine 8 years, it’s brilliant. Layer up well in the very coldest months but it’s rain and wind proof and properly LONG (I am five foot eight with long arms).

I don't have the Janelle, but I do own a Plant Hunter, which is the same 'construction' as regards being waterproof and the type of lining it has. I like it because it's a bit shorter, but appreciate that long length is what matters to some people. Anyway, I'm in NI where it's feckin Baltic most of the winter and can confirm that it is a very versatile coat. Sufficiently warm on most cold days and comfortable with an extra layer beneath on more extreme days. I hate the way some coats make me feel my movements are restricted when I wear anything extra under them, but the Plant Hunter is a bit looser and feels comfortable. I imagine the Janelle is the same, but I only tried it on in the shop (and looked like a character from Trumpton.)

I have a plant hunter too and I LOVE it!

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I love mine so much, that another one might have arrived today in a different colour because Seasalt were doing £60 off🫢 But sure it'll last years!
