How to dress for winter that's not a puffa coat?

I love my duvet coat but it's not at all flattering.

This year I want to be more 'put together' how can I look more tailored whilst being comfortable and not freezing my huge boobs off?

I’m in the same boat OP. Currently looking at a white shirt under a knitted vest and some fitted jersey trousers, all on the M&S website. Then will wear a thinner wool
coat over the top.

But not sure for wet days or when need to be extra cosy.

Sounds nice @Shallysally I'm not sure how I feel about wearing a shirt I hate feeling trussed up but it does sound like a nice outfit.

Watching with interest - it seems that the only alternative to a warm duvet coat is a wool coat that just doesn’t hack it in the driving sleet with a wind chill of minus 5. There must be something out there!

I have so many coats, definitely my thing.

Do you like the wool coat look? Real wool is much warner than you'd think for the thickness of it.

I mainly rely on my clothes rather than coat for warmth. Lots of merino and cashmere including sleeved vests. If I'm planning to spend hours stood outside I add a USB heat pad (amazon, £10) down the back of my jumper. Take a blanket scarf or packable down gilet just in case, sometimes happy to abandon style for not freezing to death!

Thanks @WildFlowerBees.
I’m the same re being trussed up. The shirt is over sized. Just ordered one with a couple of knitted vests and some dog tooth trousers. Will report back!

I have bought a couple of long sleeve basic tops that would do under the v neck knit, just a thought?

I like the wool coat look, it's smarter than the puffa. I was thinking I could deal with a sleeveless collared shirt under a cashmere jumper and a pair of nice wide leg trousers.

Also have the big boob problem and don’t suit quilted coats. I went for this recently - www.next.co.uk/g65149s2/t60284#t60284

It’s a parka but it nips in at the waist and the ever so slight sheen and gold touches makes it look fairly smart. The hood fur is detachable. It survived a huge downpour the other day! Haven’t tested it in freezing weather yet but it is warm.

Very thin down jacket under wool coat so you don't see it and there's no bulk but you're warm. And uniqlo thermals. Another idea is a nice sheepskin coat. Celtic and Co, massimo dutti have chic ones. (pricey though, so second hand maybe..)
