Period Pants

What would people recommend for period pants for a newbie as they are so pricey I want to get it right.
I have a heavy flow and am a little nervous about feeling the flow pooling out of me (it's why I wear tampons)
I think it is likely I will combine with a tampon because I dislike the feeling as the blood flows out so much.
I do also suffer from some incontinence issues, but weirdly this does lessen slightly when it's that time of the month.

Happy with my Tu love luna ones. I use with a moon cup.

Modibodi, overnight ones for during the day and maxi for overnight. Game changer

Does anyone wear them for incontinence? My bladder control is useless, I'm waiting for botox but could be waiting ages. I use Tena pull ups but hate them & when I finally get back home will end up with a bag of wet ones waiting for ds to take them to the bin as I can't get there due to disability. I spend on average £50 a month on disposable pants.

I have very heavy periods too and use the thick wuka ones overnight. Total game changer. I could actually sleep 8 hours without going to the loo! They are so thick though they I can't wear them in the day. I have some thinner ones but I do combine them with tampons, just like I would with pads. But I no longer buy pads at all & only go through a few tampons a month compared to a few boxes.
I have a pair of modibodi too but they leak. I find they can't absorb fast enough, so I only use them on the first or last day (I.e. slower, not so heavy flow)

About to get another wuka overnight pair too

I've got modibodi and really happy with them, never had a leak even overnight on my heaviest days. I found they run a little bit small so go up if you are in between sizes. All my bottoms including jeans are size 8 but I feel comfier in the modibodi 10.

Modibodi are the best imo. I also have M & S but found the elastic went after a few washes.

how much leakage?

for drips they are ok but for a bigger gush I wouldn't trust them.

throwing uniqlo in the mix. they are great imo. even for heavy flow. nice coverage front and back and they stay in place.

Another mention for M & S. I have the high cut style.

I tried a few and the best I found are Modibodi seamless. I bought them in the next size up as I didn’t want them too tight around the waist. I wear the high waisted (full brief) ones and have never had a leak, despite heavy flow. Like you I hate the feeling of blood gushing out, so wear tampons on the heaviest days.

I couldn’t get on with Wuka, they shrank and were very tight around the waist.

I have Wuka, they feel like cotton not shiny like Cheeky Wipes ones which did make me feel hot at times but Cheeky Wipes absorbent pad goes all the way from the front waistband to the back waistband, so massive compared with other brands.

Honestly I would get one of each brand to see which you like best, what feels good to one person does not feel great to another. I wanted ones that covered my ample arse so went for the high rise ones. Also because I wear a tens machine for period pain so needed something to cover the pads. I sleep really well wearing the Wuka ones, never leaked. I have used reusable period products for 15 years, Cheeky wipes period pants for a couple of years then invested in some Wukas which I have had for about a year I think.

I put them on a cold rinse in the machine, then add bathroom towels so no fabric conditioner in the load for washing. I always air dry them.

I bought some own brand from Asda and they are really good. Does make my bum feel sweaty though
