Shaving rash nightmare

I promised to take my son swimming but been harbouring a 1970s Jilly Cooper novel style bush since I missed a wax appointment. I therefore had to improvise in the absence of a shorts cossie and so I shaved the sides - new razor, foam- the works - but it's only been a few hours and it's already so itchy and red. How does anyone shave and not get this irritated?
Waxing is my choice for faff free swimming - I don't want a line of pubes hanging out and it lasts weeks - I don't intend any statement by it. I'm just lazy. Otherwise, if I wasn't swimming, I would happily let it grow a bit.
How can I manage the itch until it grows enough to wax??

Not specifically for men! Works really well.

Keep shaving it!

Try shaving using a good quality hair conditioner as opposed to cream etc. The razor glides. A different brand razor might help too. I use Venus Raspberry for all off.

I've woken up
To lumps both sides of my knickers and so itchy. Would you shave that again ?
Do you shave down/ up/ to the sides, those who successfully shave? Thanks 🙏

i would apply Sudocrem and allow it time to settle. I usually go down and up, but probably with a little sideways motion. It's part of my morning shower routine so the hairs don't get much of a look in.

I have been waxed quite regularly but I get fed up with the regrowth period.

I slathered on the Sudocrem and having lazy morning. Such a nuisance
