Sore face - skincare recommendations

Hi all,
Have been feeling recently as if my face is slightly sunburned. There's no redness or inflammation but the skin feels tight and a bit sore, especially around the eyebrow and cheek areas.
Do any of you have an idea what could be causing this and any suggestions for really gentle cleanser and moisturiser I can buy.
I normally just use the Nivea in a tube or Aldi stuff and it's never irritated me. I don't think my skin is especially sensitive, or it never used to be.
If it's relevant I'm 48 and on HRT - have been for about a year roughly.

Thanks in advance, if anyone can advise

Sounds like a damaged skin barrier.

I would use Inky List Oat Milk Cleanser and then La Roche Posay Circa Baume only and nothing else

I agree with previous poster. I've had this a few times. Sounds like damaged skin barrier. Stripping skin care right back to basics helps. Nothing with acid or string chemicals and definitely nothing with purfume in it. I always revert back to trusty simple range. I avoid micellar water too because even the rubbing of cotton wool will irritate my face.

Strong not string!

Anything with Cica should help repair the soreness. La Roche Posay Cicaplast is one of the best but almost everyone does a cica product now.
Toleriane is good too.
A gentle cleanser from CeraVe.

Yep, la roche posay cicaplast baume b5

Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser. Nothing else.

Thank you everyone. Much appreciated. I don't know how I've got a damaged skin barrier - the only thing I can think of is that I've been sanding down doors and maybe the debris has hurt my skin.
