Dyson Airwrap

DH has very generously surprised me with an Airwrap after me mentioning i'd like one but wasn't sure about the cost (he's been working away).

I generally roughly blowdry my hair and then straighten over it, it's quite wavy/bushy if I don't. Either that or it's a ponytail. My hair does curl well but i've never been very 'good at' hair.

Have you got one? How long did it take to get the hang of it? I've had a go a couple of times and still felt like I needed to use the straighteners which defeats the object really.

@Coffeepot72
thats exactly what I use mine for. I found it much better than babyliss big hair as that just tangles my hair!!

I tried mine in a rush last night and it will absolutely take some practice. I assumed I would have a but bouncy blow dry in minutes but that was absolutely not the case!

The Babyliss Big Hair leaves me with a frizzy mess, I have to blow dry, then use the Big Haur and then straighten with GHDs. Completely pointless.

@champagneplanet yep, I often need the straighteners when I've used the Babyliss Big Hair, but the Babyliss does a very good job of smoothing, even though the results can be 'big' (the clue is in the name!). Which is why I'm always keeping an eye out for an appliance that can both smooth and straighten. The Revlon One step is quite good, but I find layers respond better to the Babyliss.

But in your first post you say you still need straighteners after using the Dyson? Maybe the appliance we need hasn't been invented yet??
