Cutting a fringe the solution to my flat hair??

I have shoulder length, quite thick wavy hair. I always tie it back for work and otherwise just wear it straightened. I’m getting married next September and want to wear my hair up but I feel like it always looks quite flat to my head when it’s tied back! I have a long oval face and quite a big forehead so I just feel a bit self conscious and egg-like with my hair back at the moment, and don’t want to feel like that on my wedding day.

I’ve been thinking about getting a soft wispy fringe, maybe just past eye-length, thinking it might frame my face a bit more nicely and stop my hair looking so flat to my head?

I have had a fringe before but when my hair was quite a lot longer. Has anyone else cut a fringe and found that it made a big difference to framing their face/making their hair look less flat and dull?

Don’t do it!

If you are having your up do done by a hairdresser just discuss with them at the practice how you want it to have more oomph / be less flat.

In fact go and have a practice now so you can see how amazing a professional can do it, and buy a clip in fringe so you can see what a mistake it would be. Or how amazing it could be I suppose, but I do speak from bitter experience, and you will have to look at that wedding picture for the rest of your life.

Do it!

It just needs back combing, not something you'd want to do every day but fine for the wedding.

I'd love to try a fringe, but it's a big step if you don't like it.
